It is important to mention that at ICMC at the University of São Paulo, the area of Geometry and Topology is characterized by its wide diversity, housing researchers from various research groups.

The lack of teachers/researchers is making it difficult to carry out various activities under the responsibility of the department. Among these activities is the offering of undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered to ICMC and other institutes on campus.
This public competition from the University of São Paulo specifically aims to strengthen the following research and Geometry/Topology groups at ICMC-USP: Differential Geometry, Dynamic Systems and Theory of Singularities, through the hiring of professors specifically in these research areas or related areas.
In fact, the lack of renewal in recent years makes some of these groups' activities difficult. It is essential that the person approved in the USP competition contributes significantly to all areas of teaching at USP, including research, teaching, extension and administration.
