The objective of the new investment in Ceará is to produce 378.140 tons of green hydrogen per year

Ceará, more specifically the city of Caucaia, is preparing to receive the innovative construction of a new green hydrogen plant in the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém. The project is being led by Casa dos Ventos Energias Renováveis and initially received a contribution of US$ 900 million. According to Portal Solar, the plant will have an installed capacity of 2.4 GW of electrolysis and aims to produce 378.140 tons of green hydrogen per year. Construction is expected to start in 2025, with operation scheduled for 2027.

Green hydrogen plant in PECEM do Ceará

The objective of the investment in Ceará is to boost the generation of renewable energy and promote sustainable development in the region, and in the first phase of the project, the plant will have the capacity to produce 100 thousand tons per year of green ammonia. This will be possible thanks to a renewable generation of 140 MWm, from solar and wind energy sources. This production of green ammonia will contribute to the productive chain of industrialization and development in Caucaia, Ceará, boosting the local economy and generating jobs and income. The investment will be an important milestone for the promotion of sustainable renewable energy in the city.

Sustainable development and jobs generated by investment

The mayor of Caucaia (Ceará), Vitor Valim, highlights the importance of installing the green hydrogen plant for the sustainable development of the municipality. In addition to boosting the generation of renewable energy, the project represents the beginning of new investments and brings with it a large production chain of industrialization. The plant will not only promote the transition to cleaner energy sources, but will also contribute to the economic growth of the region, generating jobs and increasing the income of the local population.

In summary, the installation of the green hydrogen plant in the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém, in Ceará, represents an important step towards sustainable development and the generation of renewable energy in the region. With an investment of US$ 900 million in its first phase, the plant will have a installed capacity of 2.4 GW of electrolysis, targeting the production of 378.140 tons of green hydrogen per year.

In addition to boosting the productive chain of industrialization and development in Ceará, the plant will bring new investments, jobs and income for the region. This project represents a significant step forward in the transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
