On July 4, Senator Humberto Costa (PT-PE) gave an interview to the Portal de Prefeitura in Brasília, in which he addressed the topic of generating new job opportunities and income at the Port of Suape. The port complex is located in the Metropolitan Region of Recife, in Pernambuco, more precisely between the municipalities of Ipojuca and Cabo de Santo Agostinho. It is worth noting that the port is considered a hub of great importance for the region’s economy.

Investments in the Refinery and the Prospects for Opening New Job Opportunities
During the interview, the senator highlighted the actions of the Federal Government to boost the recovery of the port sector, emphasizing the completion of the second train of the refinery.
“This additional phase will allow for the production of the so-called “diesel S,” a type of non-polluting diesel with high market value. This expansion will have positive impacts on job generation both in construction and in the operation of the plant,” the senator emphasized.

In addition to the direct benefits in terms of creating new job opportunities, the senator also mentioned that the project would contribute to reducing the price of gasoline in Brazil.
With the increase in production capacity of petroleum derivatives, the country will become more self-sufficient in this aspect, decreasing the need for importing these products.
The consequence of this will likely be a positive impact on the price of gasoline and diesel, benefiting Brazilian consumers.
