The Vatican has suspended the canonization of Carlo Acutis, a young Italian who would be the first millennial saint. The ceremony, scheduled for April 27 at St. Peter’s Square, was postponed after the death of Pope Francis at the age of 88. Who Was Carlo Acutis? The “Influencer of God”

Carlo Acutis died in 2006 at the age of 15 from leukemia. An Italian born in London (1991), he used computer skills to promote the Catholic faith. He created a website about miracles and was called the “Influencer of God”.

The canonization was scheduled for April 27, but was suspended after the death of Pope Francis. The Vatican has not yet announced a new date. Acutis would be the first saint of the millennial generation.

The Miracles That Pressed for Canonization

Two miracles were attributed to Acutis:

2013: Healing of a Brazilian boy with a pancreatic malformation after prayers for the intercession of the young man.
2024: Second miracle approved by Francis, speeding up the process of sainthood.
