According to WEG, the scope includes the installation of four reaction turbines, condensation, with two uncontrolled take-offs, back-side installation type, CT model in conjunction with four synchronous generators, three-phase, 12.5 MVA, 13.8 kV, 1,800 rpm, 60 Hz, and protection and control electrical panels, totaling approximately R$ 39 million in revenue.
The thermal power plants will use reforested wood chips as biomass, a highly viable modality in the region. The units are approximately 50 km apart from each other and will have an individual installed capacity of 11.5 MW.

Thermal Power Plant in Rio Grande do Sul Is Key to Attracting GWM
According to WEG, the energy that will be generated at the plants in this process was sold by OXE Energy in one of the auctions of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL).
“This supply not only reaffirms the company’s strong presence in clean electric energy generation projects, but also in strategic ventures for the sustainable development of the regions,” explains Paulo Sinoti, director of WEG.
Thermal Power Plants Are Part Of The Electric Safety Plan For Roraima
The four thermal power plants are part of the electric safety plan designed for the State of Roraima, which since 2019 has stopped importing energy from Venezuela and has become entirely dependent on local thermal power plants that operate on diesel oil. The daily fuel consumption varies from 700 to 1,100 million liters in the state.
According to ANEEL, the completion of this auction is a historic milestone for Roraima. The state will have reliable electric service starting from June 2021, with local generation and the future line that will connect Roraima to the National Interconnected System. This will attract industries to the state, providing better quality of life for the population.
The delivery of WEG equipment will occur in the first quarter of 2021, with energy operation/commercialization expected by June 2021.
