In the statement, ECB informs that the biofuels will be produced starting in 2024 in a biorefinery to be built in Paraguay.
With the agreement, the group that currently is the largest producer of biodiesel in Brazil with an annual capacity of 828 million liters will position itself as the largest producer of advanced biofuels in the southern hemisphere and the main supplier of advanced biofuels for BP on this continent.

In addition to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), also known as Renewable Diesel, the plant will produce Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosene (SPK), also known as Sustainable Aviation Fuel or Biojet, and Green Naphtha, used in the chemical industry to make green plastic, among other products.
The agreement is part of the British company’s strategy to offer low-carbon fuel to customers in the road transport and aviation sectors and to neutralize 415 million tons of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e) related to the company’s operations and BP’s oil and gas production.
Prio – One Of The Largest Biofuel Producers Announced The Launch Of A Green Fuel For Ships With 15% Biodiesel Incorporation
The new product from PRIO contains 15% biodiesel made from waste of raw material recycling processes, produced in its factory in Aveiro; according to the company, the biofuels will be available in all Portuguese ports and soon in Brazilian ports.
Prio will launch Eco Bunkers, a green fuel for ships with 15% biodiesel incorporation, developed from recycling processes of residual raw materials, produced at Prio’s biodiesel plant in Aveiro.
