Vale-gás, which will pay for cooking gas, will be paid with precatorios

The Federal Government is counting on the approval of the PEC that changes the payment of precatorios (fees of the Union arising from court decisions, to have more resources to pay social benefits, such as Auxílio Brasil, a substitute for Bolsa Família, and the gas voucher, created to lower the price of cooking gas.

In addition to the new Auxílio Brasil, the PEC of the precatorios is also seen as fundamental to pay for the gas voucher, which must be paid bimonthly, with a maximum value of R$ 100. The benefit is seen as fundamental to help pay for the purchase of the cylinder of 13 kg of gas, also known as cooking gas. 

According to information from O Globo, there is still a long way to go to define the scope for the gas voucher program. The idea is that if the family benefits from the Brazil aid and the gas voucher, it will be able to receive R$ 500 in certain periods of the year. The new program should have a total annual cost of R$ 4 billion to the public coffers.  

Inflation of food and basic products increases importance of social benefits

The increase in the price of cooking gas “has been causing” the most vulnerable sections of the Brazilian population. With the arrival of the new benefit, it is expected that there will be a reduction in the impact of the product on the pockets of the most needy Brazilians. Today, with the devaluation of the real and the inflation of food and staples, social benefits will become even more important, particularly in the coming year.

There are several explanations for the increase in the price of cooking gas across the country. The two main explanations are: the increase in the price of a barrel of oil on the international market, in addition to the rise in the dollar price. Proof of this is that cooking gas is already sold in some regions of the country for R$100 or more. 

BRL 400 benefit for truck drivers

In addition to the gas voucher and the new Brazil aid, the BRL 400 aid that will benefit more than 700 truck drivers can also be allocated in the PEC of precatories. The benefit for truck drivers was an action by the federal government to alleviate the category's dissatisfaction with the increase in the price of Diesel, thus avoiding a national strike, something that would be terrible for the economy.
