Meet The New Electric SUV From Xiaomi, The YU7, That Combines Sophisticated Design, High-Level Performance, And Ultra-Fast Charging Technology
Xiaomi officially unveiled its newest electric vehicle, the YU7 SUV, during an event held in May 2025. The model represents a technological leap for the Chinese manufacturer, which is advancing in the competitive global electric vehicle market. With a striking design, top-tier performance, and an impressive range of up to 835 km, the YU7 aims to challenge industry giants. According to Xiaomi EV, the brand’s automotive division, the SUV will be commercially launched in July 2025, with three distinct versions. The company’s focus is on merging sophistication, embedded technology, and incredibly fast charging, all in one vehicle.
800V Platform Allows Charging From 10% To 80% In Just 12 Minutes
Among the main attractions of the YU7 is its ultra-fast charging system, based on an 800V platform with silicon carbide technology. This innovation allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes, something unprecedented among large electric SUVs. Even more impressive is the ability to gain 620 km of range with just 15 minutes of charging. The charging rate of 5.2C surpasses many competing models, as highlighted by specialized mobility press, including Terra and the IG Carros portal, which covered the official announcement of the model. According to manufacturer data, the system also supports peak voltages of up to 897V, ensuring energy efficiency and reduced waiting time at charging stations.
Three Versions With Range Between 760 And 835 Km Expand Options For Consumers
The new YU7 will be launched in three different configurations, all equipped with high-capacity batteries and performance tailored to various usage profiles:
-
BYD Dolphin 2027 gains more power, increases in size, changes interior, and abandons controversial feature to face new competition in Brazil.
-
The German economist Wolf-Peter Schill has no doubts: “Electric cars are already far superior to cars with internal combustion engines.”
-
Largest public charging network in Brazil: BYD reaches 125 fast chargers and accelerates national expansion of electric mobility.
-
Goodbye expensive popular car: electric vehicle for less than R$ 70,000 starts being sold in Brazil with a range of 200 km and targets those looking to escape gasoline.
- YU7 Standard: entry-level version with a 96.3 kWh battery and a range of 835 km on the CLTC cycle.
- YU7 Pro: equipped with all-wheel drive, maintains the same 96.3 kWh battery, but with a range adjusted to 760 km.
- YU7 Max: top-of-the-line with a 101.7 kWh battery, four-wheel drive, and a range of 770 km.
With this, Xiaomi offers the longest range in the segment among electric SUVs with less than 100 kWh, surpassing established rivals in the European and Asian markets. The SUV’s dimensions also stand out: 4.99 meters in length, 1.99 meters in width, and 1.60 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 3 meters. Its aluminum shell hood has 3.11 m², being the largest in mass production, and hides a frunk with 141 liters of space.
Futuristic Design And Technological Interior Elevate Experience To A New Level
The YU7 showcases modern lines and aerodynamic details inspired by the SU7 sedan, with “droplet” headlights and air channels on the hood. The robust rear features inclined taillights and optional wheels with 275 mm tires, enhancing the sporty look. Inside, the dashboard features three Mini LED screens in a 1.10-meter display, called “HyperVision.” Equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, it ensures startup in 1.35 seconds and OTA updates in 15 minutes. With this, the model competes with luxury cars priced above US$ 100,000.
Global Launch Of The YU7 Is Expected In July 2025, According To Xiaomi
Xiaomi EV will launch the YU7 in China in July 2025. Furthermore, it plans to expand to Europe and Latin America in the second half of the year. Thus, the brand aims to establish itself in the premium electric SUV market. To do this, it intends to maximize its innovative technological base. Although prices have not been disclosed, analysts predict competitive values against Tesla, BYD, and NIO. The strategy, therefore, aligns with the global trend of electrification. In addition, it focuses on consumers who prioritize efficiency, value range, and seek innovation.
