Registrations for the new devices cite three model numbers and place the duo among devices already authorized by the regulatory agency. Despite hardware similarities, battery capacity, cameras, memory, and water resistance vary between versions and markets.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro and POCO X8 have been approved by Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), a regulatory authorization necessary for the official commercialization of smartphones in Brazil. According to a report published by TudoCelular, the registrations correspond to the codes 2607DRA18T, 2607DRA18G, and 2607DPC18G.
The first two codes identify variants of the Redmi Note 17 Pro, while the third is associated with the POCO X8. Regulatory approval does not, by itself, provide information on price, launch date, or all configurations that will be sold in the Brazilian market.

This approval adds to the earlier certification of basic versions from the Redmi Note 17 family. As a result, more members of the new generation appear in the Brazilian regulatory system, although commercial release still depends on an announcement from Xiaomi.
AMOLED Display and Snapdragon Featured in Both Devices
The Redmi Note 17 Pro and POCO X8 share significant portions of the technical specifications detailed for their international versions. Both utilize a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution around 1.5K and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, along with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

The processing power comes from the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, a Qualcomm platform that also supports 5G connectivity. The specifications released for the duo also include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and features associated with Xiaomi’s HyperOS ecosystem.
The differences become more apparent in the camera set-up. The Redmi Note 17 Pro combines a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
The POCO X8 similarly uses a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS but substitutes the ultra-wide lens for a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The international versions also differ in memory and storage combinations available in each market.
In the case of the Redmi, there are configurations that go up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. However, these options do not allow conclusions about which configurations will be selected for Brazil until the official presentation from the manufacturer.
Battery Varies Between Versions and May Reach 9,000 mAh
Battery capacity is one of the key aspects that require differentiation between markets. The material related to certification cites the BM7E cell, built with silicon-carbon technology, associated with capacities that can vary between approximately 8,300 mAh and 9,000 mAh.
In the international specifications used as a reference by TudoCelular, the Redmi Note 17 Pro appears with a battery of 8,340 mAh and 67 W charging in some versions. There is also a configuration with 9,000 mAh intended for another market, a difference that prevents treating the higher value as confirmed for Brazil.
The same caution applies to the POCO X8. The international technical sheet for the device indicates a battery of 8,340 mAh and fast charging of 67 W, as well as support for reverse wired charging in markets where this feature is offered.
The documentation cited in the report also associates the devices with 67 W chargers. This supports the compatibility of the certified models with this power, but does not resolve other regional differences in capacity, accessories, and commercial configurations.
Silicon-carbon technology allows for increased energy capacity without requiring a proportional increase in battery size. According to the provided material, the devices appear to have a thickness in the range of 8 millimeters, although final measurements may vary based on the version considered.
Water protection also varies by version
Another point that requires attention is resistance to water and dust. The Redmi Note 17 Pro is described with certifications that include IP68 and IP69K, while the information presented for the POCO X8 varies depending on the documentation and the international version referenced.
In the international technical sheet of the POCO X8, the device also appears associated with certifications for water and dust protection. Therefore, the absence or presence of a particular rating in Brazil can only be defined with certainty based on the specification intended for the domestic market.
Regional differences also affect battery, memory, and some photographic features, which is why specifications from other countries should not be automatically transferred to the Brazilian model. Certification confirms regulatory authorization, but does not replace the local technical sheet from the manufacturer.
The family also includes another member mentioned in the material that has not completed the same step: the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. Its eventual certification would expand the range of models authorized by the agency, but there is no confirmed date for this in the material.
With the Redmi Note 17 Pro and POCO X8 already certified, the commercial information that is not included in the certification remains pending: price, release date, and specific configurations intended for Brazil. This data depends on official disclosure from Xiaomi before the start of sales in the domestic market.
