The operator of Macaé Airport has signed a contract with the companies for a construction project for the new runway, lasting two years. Over R$ 220 million will be invested in the improvement plan and construction of the new runway at the facility.

They will be part of the concessionaire’s new project, the construction of the new runway at Joaquim de Azevedo Mancebo Airport, located in the city of Macaé, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Contractors Barbosa Mello and Engeform Engenharia will be responsible for the implementation of the new runway for takeoffs and landings, including activities for developing the executive project, earthworks, drainage, and soil treatment.

Additionally, the scope also includes the relocation of navigation aid equipment and landscaping.

They plan to open avenues for new directions for Macaé Airport after the project’s completion.
