For this Friday, (04/28), the contractors Barbosa Mello and Engeform Engenharia have big plans for the coming years with Zurich Airport Brasil. The operator of Macaé Airport has signed a contract with the companies for a construction project for the new runway, lasting two years. Over R$ 220 million will be invested in the improvement plan and construction of the new runway at the facility.

The concessionaire Zurich Airport Brasil, responsible for managing Macaé, Florianópolis, and Vitória airports, has just entered into a new partnership with contractors Barbosa Mello (CBM) and Engeform Engenharia.

They will be part of the concessionaire’s new project, the construction of the new runway at Joaquim de Azevedo Mancebo Airport, located in the city of Macaé, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

With the Million-Dollar Investment, Macaé Airport Will Experience Increased Activity

Contractors Barbosa Mello and Engeform Engenharia will be responsible for the implementation of the new runway for takeoffs and landings, including activities for developing the executive project, earthworks, drainage, and soil treatment.

Additionally, the scope also includes the relocation of navigation aid equipment and landscaping.

They plan to open avenues for new directions for Macaé Airport after the project’s completion.

With the increased capacity of the airport, the expectation is that more commercial and cargo flights can be conducted, contributing to the economic development of the city and the state of Rio de Janeiro as a whole.

It is worth noting that the construction of the new runway at Joaquim de Azevedo Mancebo Airport is expected to generate around 380 direct and indirect jobs during its execution, contributing to income generation and improving the quality of life for the local population.
