Seven Free Graduate Courses Completely Online at IFSULDEMINAS Offer 610 Spots in Education, Health, and Management, with Registrations Online Until January and Admission in 2026 by Electronic Lottery.
The free graduate courses offered by the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Southern Minas Gerais (IFSULDEMINAS) are now accepting applications for the first semester of 2026. According to Public Notice No. 295/2025, there are 610 spots in lato sensu courses, 100% in EAD mode, public, and without charging enrollment or tuition fees, which expands access to specialization for professionals from different fields.
The selection process does not include an exam. All classifications will be made by electronic lottery, provided the candidate has their registration confirmed. The opportunities cover areas of Education, Health, and Management, distributed among the campuses of Inconfidentes, Passos, and Pouso Alegre, in courses that do not require in-person meetings and can be taken by professionals from any region of the country.
What Are the Courses and How Are the Spots Distributed
In total, IFSULDEMINAS is offering 7 free graduate courses, all in Distance Education mode and without in-person meetings. The distribution of the 610 spots among the campuses is as follows:

In Inconfidentes, the course of Mathematics Education offers 100 spots, with 80 for general competition and 20 reserved spots aimed at affirmative action as outlined in the notice. In Passos, there is a strong concentration of opportunities: Nursing in Urgency and Emergency has 100 spots, Oncological Nursing has another 100, School Management has another 100, and Innovation Management has 50 spots. Meanwhile, Strategic Business Management is the course with the highest individual offer, totaling 120 spots, of which 96 are for general competition and 24 are reserved.
At the Pouso Alegre Campus, the course of Applied Computing in Education offers 40 spots, with 32 for general competition and 8 reserved. In all cases, there are no tuition fees or enrollment charges, reinforcing the public and free nature of the initiative. The only charge expected is the application fee for the selection process.
Who Can Enroll in the Courses
To compete for the spots, the candidate needs to have a degree recognized by MEC, since it involves lato sensu graduate courses. Each course, however, has specific minimum education requirements.
The Mathematics Education course is intended for graduates in Mathematics, Physics, or Sciences, both in teaching and bachelor’s degrees. The courses of Nursing in Urgency and Emergency and Oncological Nursing require a complete higher education degree in Nursing. Meanwhile, School Management accepts graduates in any field, with preference for teaching degrees, precisely because it relates directly to the educational context.
The courses of Innovation Management, Strategic Business Management, and Applied Computing in Education are also open to graduates in any field of knowledge, which broadens the potential audience and makes the free graduate courses at IFSULDEMINAS an attractive alternative for both recent graduates and professionals already in the job market.
How Registrations and the Participation Fee Work
Applications for the courses must be made exclusively online, on the Official Portal of IFSULDEMINAS, until 5:59 PM on January 9, 2026, Brasília time. The candidate must fill out the electronic form and generate the corresponding payment slip for the application fee, in the amount of R$ 20.00, respecting the deadlines defined in the notice.
However, there is the possibility to request a fee waiver. The notice provides this benefit for candidates who can prove a family income per capita equal to or less than 1.5 minimum wages and who completed all of their secondary education in a public school, or as a full scholarship student in a private school. The request for fee exemption can be made until November 14, 2025, within the rules established in Public Notice No. 295/2025.
Electronic Lottery and Result Announcement
Unlike selection processes based on tests or curriculum analysis, the filling of vacancies will be done entirely by electronic lottery. All candidates with confirmed registrations participate in the classification, which occurs randomly.
The lottery is scheduled for January 22, 2026, at 4 PM, in a procedure defined by IFSULDEMINAS and detailed in the notice. The announcement of the lists of selected and supplementary candidates is expected for January 23, 2026. It is essential that the candidate follows official publications to check the results and the next steps for enrollment if selected.
