Service launched in Shenzhen combines autonomous robots and human workers, reducing the price of domestic cleaning by almost half and registering high initial demand
Shenzhen launched in the Bao’an district the first intelligent cleaning service that brings together autonomous robots and human workers, with three-hour sessions for 74 yuan, almost half the traditional price, expanding families’ access to domestic solutions with artificial intelligence.
Debut of the cleaning robot service
The operation began in Bao’an, Shenzhen, China, through a partnership between X Square Robot and the domestic services platform 58.com.
Residents like Chen Guo were among the first to test the model, which combines intelligent cleaning with human assistance in a residential service.

Division of tasks
In the adopted system, the robot takes on repetitive and standardized tasks, while the human professional is responsible for communication with the client and more complex activities, such as deep cleaning and dust mite removal.
During a typical session, the robot can clean the bathroom and kitchen, organize scattered shoes, pick up toys, stack books on shelves, and clean surfaces.
It can also clean the cat’s litter box, change trash bags, assist the operator in making the bed, and at the end of the cycle, take the trash out by itself.
Price and demand
Each intelligent cleaning session lasts three hours and costs 74 yuan, approximately US$ 10.70, about R$ 56 at the current exchange rate.
According to the launch information, this amount represents almost half the cost of a service done solely by humans, which boosted demand.
All available slots for March, the month of the service’s debut, sold out in a few days, signaling initial demand for the new format.
Difference and next steps
The model differs from other humanoid domestic robots announced in 2025, which aimed for a personal robot per household, at a much higher cost.
The text cites the Neo robot as an example, priced at US$ 20,000, just over R$ 104,000, a value higher than the service launched in Shenzhen.
X Square Robot stated that its robots use embedded artificial intelligence, allowing them to perceive, reason, and act in domestic environments, considered challenging due to their unpredictability.
This advancement aligns with the Chinese Government’s Work Report for 2026, which treats embedded intelligence as a strategic industry for the country’s development.
The company stated that it will increase production to meet future demand. Meanwhile, 58.com plans to expand to more cities and reinforces its goal of enhancing its operations with technological solutions for the home.
