With over two decades of experience and a passion for the world of motorcycles, Silvio Rotilli Filho, a Brazilian and motorcycle enthusiast, had been questioning the discrepancy between technological and safety advancements in cars compared to motorcycles, which seemed to have stagnated over time. Startup of the Brazilian Engineer Develops Electric Motorcycle Prototypes
Rotilli created the Auper startup, alongside three other colleagues. The company, based in Canada, took on the challenge of launching InCity to the market, the world’s most advanced electric motorcycle with anti-theft technology. Although the project is relatively unknown, it is not an initiative in its early stages.
Auper has already developed the prototype of InCity, an electric motorcycle that can reach 150 km/h and go from 0 to 100 km/h in about 6 seconds. The model is not just an idea on paper; it actually exists.

Now the Brazilian startup is seeking investors to establish its factory, which is expected to be located in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). In July, the startup signed an agreement with the city hall to establish an industrial unit and technological center that is expected to generate 750 jobs.
The main feature of the electric motorcycle with anti-theft technology is a centralized architecture in a vehicle control unit, which concentrates all functions of the motorcycle. It is a concept different from what is currently available in the market, which consists of various separate systems and equipment.
According to the brand, instead of having several systems spread out controlling different parts of the electric motorcycle, everything is integrated into a main computer, streamlining operations and decision-making. This can drastically reduce costs while improving the user experience.
Understand How the Anti-Theft System of the Electric Motorcycle Works
The technology can be quickly updated, making the electric motorcycle always a vehicle with modern features. On his social media profile, Silvio highlights another differential of the company, the long-term planning to ensure the product’s commercial viability. Auper was not developed just to offer the most advanced features but also to secure its success.
The vulnerabilities of the supply chain have been minimized, manufacturing costs simplified, and engineers meticulously designed to meet the demands of their demographics.
The new electric motorcycle also includes an advancement to overcome a significant obstacle in the motorcycle market, theft and the sale of parts in illegal markets. According to the company, all components of the motorcycles are encrypted, preventing their use in other units.
Electric Motorcycle Will Be Sold for R$ 18,000
The electric motor of the vehicle equipped with the anti-theft system is provided by Enedym and features a concept without permanent magnets. The power is supplied by a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery with a range of approximately 100 km.
There are disc brakes with ABS on the wheels, traction control, and stability offered as standard across all models. The digital instrument display, referred to as IIC, adapts to the driving conditions.
In motion, the electric motorcycle shows only critical information such as speed and remaining energy charge. While stopped, it displays traffic data and real-time performance history.
It is still unclear when the InCity will reach stores, a long path until a sales and support network is formed beyond the production of the model itself. However, Auper plans to offer its electric motorcycle at attractive prices in the range of R$ 18,000.
