Chevrolet has confirmed that it will launch a new entry-level compact SUV, named Chevrolet Sonic 2026, in the first quarter of 2026, in Brazil.

The engine delivers up to 115 hp of power and 16.8 kgfm of torque, figures aligned with the main competitors in the segment.
Chevrolet is still assessing whether to use the version with direct injection, available in the Tracker, or the multi-point system used in the Onix.
The transmission is expected to be manual or automatic, always with six gears.
There is also the possibility of a version with a naturally aspirated 1.0 engine, with around 82 hp, to reduce the initial price and broaden the model’s commercial reach.
Features Reinforce Safety and Connectivity
A sighting published by the profile Placa Verde (@placaverde) indicates that the Chevrolet Sonic 2026 will have automatic emergency braking system (EAB).
This feature uses a camera positioned on the windshield to identify collision risks and can automatically brake the vehicle.
This is an important differentiator compared to the Onix and a competitive advance in the competition with Fiat Pulse and Kardian.
Inside, there is a expectation for a modern dashboard, with 8-inch digital instruments and 11” multimedia center, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly, following Chevrolet’s latest standard.
