While the Sail Sedan of the previous generation had traces of the Onix, the new cheap car, which will end sales of the HB20, brought a more elegant style and squarer lines. The front features narrow headlights with a rectangular shape and interconnected with the grille, as well as a bumper with a smaller air intake, delivering a more classic style than the public is used to seeing. In profile, a crease runs from the front fender to the rear, connecting to the lights, which are horizontal and invade the trunk lid.
New Chevrolet car will have a trunk capacity of 475 L
Inside, the popular car that will end sales of the HB20 has straighter, more horizontal lines, which undoubtedly stand out from the rest of the brand's range, with a more rounded design.
A line runs across the entire panel and hides the air vents, in the best 11th generation Honda Civic style. Furthermore, the Chevrolet's new car has a multimedia center with an 8-inch screen, highlighted in the more expensive versions.
With a compact size, Chevrolet's new cheap car, which promises to end sales of the HB20, is 4,49 meters long, 1,49m high, 1,69m wide and has a wheelbase of 2,55 meters. To give you an idea, the current Onyx Plus It measures 4,47 m, 1,47 m and 2,60 m respectively. The trunk of the compact sold in Chile has a good 475 liters, slightly larger than that of the national sedan (469 L).
Chevrolet's popular car delivers up to 98 horsepower
Under the hood, Chevrolet's new car has a four-cylinder 1.5 naturally aspirated gasoline engine. According to the automaker, this engine produces 98 horsepower and 14,2 kgfm of torque. There are two transmission options, one with a six-speed manual and the other with a CVT automatic. It is sold in LT and LTZ variants, the latter with two gearbox options.
What draws attention is that the model, despite being basic, already has disc brakes including at the rear, while the Onix Plus here has rear drum brakes. It is worth noting that the 2024 Chevrolet Sail Sedan is sold for US$9.790, which in direct conversion is around R$48.218. It is Chevrolet's cheapest car in Chile, below the Onix and Ônix Plus duo, which cost US$11.790 (R$58.069).
