The Chevrolet Onix Joy Arrives With Changes in the Market in 2024 and Promises Great Performance for Under R$ 40,000. The Model Delivers Up to 80 Horsepower.
Chevrolet, a giant in the automotive sector, surprised everyone by launching a new version of the Onix, the Joy, which now features some mechanical improvements from the 2017 line of the hatch. While maintaining the design and pre-facelift, the Chevrolet Onix Joy presents an improved mechanical set and offers great value for money.

The engine of the Chevrolet Onix Joy is the same as the more expensive versions, the 1.0 SPE/4 with 80 horsepower and a maximum torque of 9.8 mkgf with ethanol. However, it has received updates such as new pistons, connecting rods, and rings, as well as a recalibrated electronic control unit.
The hydraulic steering has been replaced by an electric one, reducing the effort required for maneuvers. The six-speed transmission also helps with fuel efficiency. According to data from Inmetro’s labeling program, the Chevrolet Onix Joy shows an average consumption of 9.1 km/l in the city and 10.8 km/l on the highway with ethanol. When fueled with gasoline, the numbers improve to 12.9 km/l, respectively.

The Chevrolet Onix Joy comes equipped from the factory with air conditioning, electric steering, power windows, a digital panel, and the OnStar service, which offers tracking and diagnostic and security functions via smartphone.
However, the model does not come with electric locks; this item is offered in an optional package that includes an alarm, black adhesive for the B pillars, speakers, and a simpler multimedia system than the My Link, for an additional cost of R$ 4,190.
With a starting price of R$ 38,990, the Chevrolet Onix Joy stands out as one of the best options in its category. The main rivals of the model are the Renault Sandero Authentique 1.0, priced at R$ 41,100, the Hyundai HB20 1.0 Comfort, costing R$ 31,855, and the Ford Ka SE 1.0, with a suggested price of R$ 42,590.
If the consumer needs more space in the trunk, the Prisma also has a Joy version, offered at R$ 42,990. Although the design of the Onix Joy is considered outdated, the model compensates for this with features and improvements found in the more sophisticated versions of the hatch.
Chevrolet Onix Premier 2024 Arrives in the Market
The Chevrolet Onix Premier 2024 is the top-of-the-line version and can be found at dealerships starting at R$ 115 thousand and, in addition to providing a good driving experience, offers features such as automatic parking assist and blind spot monitoring. The model can deliver 116 horsepower, sufficient for city driving, climbs, highways, and overtakes.
The gearbox of the Chevrolet Onix Premier 2024 is a six-speed automatic, however, for those who prefer, there is an option for sequential shifting with a button on the gear lever.
