Masons And Laborers Face Challenges To Maintain Their Profession Amid Stagnant Wages And Constant Rising Living Costs. The Category Claims That, In More Than 13 Years, The Daily Wage Has Risen Only R$50.

The Debate About The Amount Paid To Masons And Laborers Is Gaining Strength In Brazil, Where Many Professionals Report Difficulties To Balance The Cost Of Living With Their Earnings.

The Discontent Is Growing, Especially Among Those Working In The Humble Neighborhoods Of Brazilian Cities, Where Contractors Reluctantly Pay The Amount That Workers Consider Fair.

In Wealthier Regions, Payment Tends To Be A Bit Better, But Still Below Expectations.

Valuation Distant From Reality

The Workers Point Out That The Differences In Prices Between Neighborhoods Are Significant. In Areas With Greater Purchasing Power, Some Pay A Bit More, But The Overall Average Is Still Concerning.

The Perception Is That The Increase In Daily Wages Has Not Kept Up With Price Increases In Recent Years. A Mason Who Was Earning R$ 150 A Day More Than A Decade Ago Now Receives Around R$ 200.

According To Reports, The Increase Of Only R$ 50 In 13 Years Shows How Much The Profession Has Lost Ground Against Inflation And Rising Living Costs.

This Gap Makes The Work More And More Challenging. Many Claim That, Even Enjoying What They Do, Their Motivation Decreases When They Realize That The Financial Return Does Not Cover Basic Expenses.

We Work, But By The End Of The Month The Money Barely Covers The Essentials,” Is The Common Sentiment Among Professionals.

Laborers Earn Less And Face More Obstacles

The Scenario Is Even More Difficult For Laborers, Who Receive The Lowest Daily Wages In The Category. An Inexperienced Worker, Who Is Still Learning, Earns About R$ 100 A Day.

Those With A Bit More Experience, Capable Of Preparing Mixtures Or Assisting With Small Jobs, Can Earn R$ 120.

The Most Experienced Laborers, Who Master Tasks Such As Plastering, Leveling, And Finishing Walls, Can Earn Up To R$ 150.

Even So, The Amount Is Considered Low Given The Physical Demands And The Rising Costs Of Basic Products.

Many Report That By The End Of The Month, Their Earnings Do Not Cover Food, Transportation, And Tools. The Situation Reinforces The Inequality Within The Profession Itself, Where Learning And Practice Do Not Translate Into Better Financial Conditions.

Qualified Masons Struggle For Recognition

The Most Experienced Masons Face The Same Dilemma. On Average, A Qualified Professional Earns R$ 200 A Day In Belo Horizonte, For Example.

In High-End Neighborhoods, The Amount Can Reach R$ 250 Or Even R$ 300, But Such Cases Are Rare. Most Continue To Receive The Same Wage Level For Years, Even With The Quality And Productivity Of Their Work.

This Disparity Discourages Many Professionals Who Feel That Excellence Is Not Properly Rewarded.

In Some Cases, The Mason Is Recognized By The Client, But The Amount Paid Does Not Reflect The Effort, Experience, Or Responsibility Involved In Each Project. “People Know The Service Is Good, But Even So They Try To Pay The Minimum Possible,” Workers Regret.

Difficult Negotiation And Cost Pressure

Negotiating The Price Of Services Has Become A Delicate Task. Many Clients Claim They Cannot Afford To Pay More, While Masons Argue That The Current Rate No Longer Covers Expenses.

The Rise In Prices Of Food, Transportation, And construction Materials Directly Affects The Budgets Of Professionals, Who End Up Having To Accept Less Than They Consider Fair.

This Deadlock Creates A Cycle Of Discontent. On One Side, Clients Trying To Save Money; On The Other, Workers Feeling Undervalued. “It’s Tough For Both The Payer And The Worker,” Is The Most Common Summary Among Those Who Live Off Construction.

Even Those Who Have Worked In The Sector For Decades Recognize That In Some Cases, It Is Better To Refuse A Job Than To Work For An Amount That Does Not Compensate For The Effort.

Regional Differences And Cost Of Living

The Variations Also Appear Among Cities In Minas Gerais. In Some Locations In The Interior, The Amount Paid Is Similar To That Of The Capital, But The Lower Cost Of Living Makes The Income A Bit More Balanced.

In Others, There Are Reports Of Slightly Better Daily Wages, Especially In Areas With Fewer Available Professionals. Even So, The General Discontent Remains The Same: The Price Of Work Has Not Kept Up With The Economic Reality.

These Comparisons Show That The Problem Is Not Restricted To Belo Horizonte. In Different Regions, Masons And Laborers Face The Same Challenges And Realize That The Increase In Food, Transportation, And Rent Prices Has Nullified Any Additional Gains Made Over The Years.

Inflation And Income Stagnation

The Main Point Causing Indignation Among Professionals Is The Discrepancy Between Inflation And Earnings.

In More Than A Decade, The Average Daily Wage Has Increased By Only R$ 50, An Insufficient Amount To Even Cover The Increase In Food And Energy Costs. The Comparison Reinforces The Perception That The Category Has Fallen Behind In Professional Valuation Policies.

Additionally, Many Report That At Certain Times, They Find Themselves Without Work, Making It Even Harder To Support Their Families. This Instability, Combined With Low Valuation, Contributes To The Feeling Of Discouragement.

Perseverance And Hope

Even Amidst Difficulties, Many Professionals Maintain Hope For Better Days. They Believe Recognition Will Come When Society Understands The Value Of Labor In Construction.

They Also Acknowledge That Amidst The Challenges, There Are Still Fair Clients Who Value The Work And Pay What Was Agreed.

For These Workers, The Profession Is More Than A Means Of Livelihood: It Is A Craft Of Dedication And Pride. Despite The Undervaluation And Challenges, They Remain Steadfast, Trusting That Their Efforts Will Be Rewarded. “We Carry On As Long As We Can, In God’s Hands,” Is The Message That Summarizes The Feeling Of Perseverance In The Face Of Uncertainties In The Sector.

E todo ano a mesma ladainha, “a inflação do ano ficou em 5,2 , a inflação ficou em 5,6, etc. E tome-lhe impostos do atual governo do amor. Fazueli

Se uma diária de 200,00 não dá para viver , imagine quem ganha um salário minimo ! Nos bairros pobres, devido a renda ser baixa , é impossível pagar 200,00 a diária , é por isto que 90% das residências não têm acabamentos .
