In cars with indirect injection systems, the fuel injectors are located in the intake manifold or cylinder head. Thus, additive gasoline cleans these injectors and, consequently, influences the cleanliness inside the combustion chamber. In vehicles with direct injection, the cleaning action of additive gasoline occurs directly in the combustion chamber, as the fuel is injected there. In neither case does the fuel pass directly through the TB to perform an active cleaning on it.
Additive Gasoline and the TB: An Indirect but Positive Effect on Cleaning
Although additive gasoline does not directly clean the throttle body, it contributes to keeping it clean for a longer time. This happens because, by promoting a more efficient and cleaner burn, the gases that can return from the engine to the intake system (and are responsible for dirtying the TB) become less harmful.
Consequently, the regular use of good additive gasoline helps reduce dirt buildup in the TB, but it is important to emphasize: it helps keep it clean, not to clean a TB that is already dirty.

Passei a usar gasolina comum no meu Corola 2005 e notei que ficou mais econômico.

Boa noite galera. Nossa quanta bobagem eu sou obrigado a ler. Quem disse a vcs que a gasolina passa pelo TBI? Pelo TBI somente passa o ar aspirado pelo motor e vapor de óleo do que chamado respiro do motor. O que é facilmente resolvido com um catchcan muito usado em carros turbo. A gasolina cai e forma indireta, bicos/coletor/câmara ou bicos/direta na câmara de combustão. Então gasolina/álcool ou diesel não passam pela TBI, por tanto não são responsáveis pela limpeza ou sujeira desse sistema. O filtro de ar sujo e/ou os vapores de óleo do motor sim.
