A Renegade Gained Muscle Car Mechanics, Widened Visual and Track Cabin, Fully Changing the Proposal of the Rear-Wheel-Drive SUV

The Jeep Renegade has always been remembered as a comfortable compact SUV but far from being a performance reference in various markets. An owner in the United States decided to change that radically.

The result was a Renegade transformed into a high-impact project, with a V8 engine, aggressive look, and interior prepared for sports driving, all focused on delivering over 500 hp.

What Happened and Why It Caught Attention

A Renegade received a complete transformation to become an SUV with a totally different proposal. The project deviated from the standard and gained features of a track car.

The most striking change was in the mechanical component, which swapped the original base for a much more powerful solution. The idea was to create a Renegade that does not go unnoticed, neither in performance nor in presence.

The creator is known on Instagram as lunchie_b, a name associated with the development and showcase of the car.

The V8 HEMI Engine That Changed Everything in the Renegade

The heart of the build is a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI, replacing the four-cylinder engine of the Renegade. This same V8 appears in models like Dodge Challenger, Charger, and Ram 1500.

The final power has not been disclosed, but there are indications that the setup may have exceeded the levels seen in models where the HEMI is close to 400 hp. The combination of high-performance components opened the door to surpass 500 hp.

This swap requires deep adjustments and completely changes the way the SUV delivers power and acceleration.

Rear-Wheel Drive and Brembo Brakes to Handle the Power

The build did not stop at the engine. To support the new power level, the project received a transplant of components related to traction and braking.

It received the differential and Brembo six-piston brake system from the Hellcat versions. With this, the traction became rear-wheel, aligning the behavior of the Renegade to that of a muscle car.

The adaptation required custom solutions and structural changes to accommodate parts that are not part of the original SUV design.

Widened Body Changes the Presence of the SUV

The look was also taken to the extreme. The Renegade received a body kit that significantly enlarged the wheel arches and brought new bumpers.

The set creates a presence reminiscent of showcase projects, more aligned with a concept from SEMA Show than a traditional urban SUV.

The aesthetic proposal reinforces the idea that the vehicle was created to draw attention, both standing still and in motion.

Hellcat Wheels and Tires Make the Message Clear

The size of the wheel and tire set shows the level of transformation. The measurements repeat the standard used in the Challenger and Charger Hellcat.

At the front, the car uses 275/40 R20. At the rear, the set goes to 305/35 R20, reinforcing the rear-wheel traction and muscle car look.

This adjustment in measurements also helps accommodate the new brake system and the wider stance of the body.

3D Printing and Racing Interior Complete the Project

An important part of the aesthetic and functional pieces was made with 3D printing. This allowed for the creation of unique components, well-fitting within the set, including technical mounts and finishing details.

Inside, the Renegade was completely redesigned. The original seats were replaced with Sparco racing seats, along with new indicators on the column to track engine parameters.

The electrical system, controls, and even the automatic transmission lever came from the Dodge Charger, creating an unusual mix of compact SUV and muscle car mechanics.

The Renegade became a unique project by uniting 5.7-liter V8 HEMI, widened body, and advanced technical solutions like 3D printing.

Even without disclosing the cost and detailing the exact power, the transformation makes clear the practical impact, an SUV that completely changes category upon receiving rear-wheel drive and a performance-focused build.

“tartaruga da stellantis”.kkkkk. Já contaram para quem escreveu a matéria que o Renegade tem 185cv e 27kgfm? Em todas as versões. Esse título de tartaruga, pode deixar para o Tera 1.0 aspirado de 80cv. Ou para o hrv 1.5 aspirado. Ou para o kicks 1.6. ou para o novo yaris Cross 1.5. esses sim são tartarugas e perdem em desempenho até para o Renegade antigo de 140cv.
