New loan for MEI released in 2024: Understand how the program works for Individual Microentrepreneurs and how to request amounts of up to R$150 thousand.

Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI) now have a new opportunity to boost their businesses with easy credit of up to R$150, thanks to the National Support Program for Micro and Small Businesses (Pronampe). With attractive payment terms and more affordable interest rates, Pronampe offers essential support for those seeking to expand or consolidate their market presence. In this article, we will explain how you can access this resource and make the most of the MEI loan released in 2024, helping to strengthen and boost your business. Check out the details and find out how to secure this credit that can be the key to your company's success.

How does the MEI loan work?

O pronampe was created during the Covid-19 pandemic to facilitate access to credit for small businesses, thus helping them grow. Each Individual Microentrepreneur can request up to R$150 until December 31, 2024. The objective is to enable these entrepreneurs to invest in renovations, equipment, purchase of raw materials, payment of salaries or rent, among other actions.

In addition to facilitating access, the National Support Program for Micro and Small Businesses also facilitates payment, with reduced interest rates and longer terms. The goal is to contribute to the development of Brazilian companies. The program provides access to loans of amounts corresponding to up to 30% of the company's revenue, and each entrepreneur can obtain up to R$150.

The interest rate for this type of loan is 6%, according to the Selic rate. The repayment term is extended and, in total, is 48 months. There are 11 months of grace period plus 37 months of effective payment of the debt. This grace period is the time in which the entrepreneur can reestablish himself and be able to organize himself to start paying the loan.

To use the loan for MEI released, the entrepreneur must share his/her annual revenue with the bank, the procedure can be done through the e-CAC portal in the Information Sharing tab.

Other advantages of being an Individual Microentrepreneur

Another advantage, in addition to the loan for MEI released, is the possibility of obtaining benefits from National Institute of Social Security (INSS). Among them, the retirement that is released to the worker who completes the minimum contributions. The value of the retirement of the Individual Microentrepreneur is always 1 minimum wage of the year of payment. This means that if the approval of the benefit is made in 2024, the amount to be received is R$ 1.412.

The contribution to the INSS is included in the Documentação de Arrecadação do Simples (DAS) and gives the right to receive social security benefits. The contribution to the INSS within the DAS is 5% of the minimum wage, so the payment is equivalent to the minimum wage. One of the simplest ways to get an early retirement as an MEI is through disability retirement, called Permanent Disability Benefit.

To obtain disability retirement from the INSS, the self-employed worker must meet certain established criteria, such as having made at least 12 social security contributions before applying for retirement, being insured by the INSS and proving through a medical examination that he or she is unable to return to work.
