Caoa Chery Introduced the Tiggo 7 Plug-in Hybrid, a Mid-Size SUV That Promises to Shake Up the Hybrid Segment in Brazil. With an Electric Range of 63 km, Combined Power of 317 hp, and Average Consumption of 36.9 km/l, It Arrives Priced at R$ 239,990, Directly Targeting Competitors BYD Song Plus and GWM Haval H6.

The new Caoa Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV comes equipped with a 1.5 turbo engine producing 147 hp, which works alongside two electric motors that add up to 170 hp. The result is a total of 317 hp and a torque of 56.6 kgfm. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occurs in just 6.8 seconds, a very competitive time in the segment.

In addition to Performance, the Tiggo 7 PHEV stands out for its fuel economy. According to the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV), the SUV delivers a consumption of 36.9 km/l in the city and 30.2 km/l on the highway. To improve the range, the fuel tank was increased to 60 liters, and the 19.3 kWh battery ensures up to 63 km of driving in electric mode.

The SUV received visual changes, such as a new bumper, horizontal LED daytime running lights, and 18-inch diamond-cut wheels. The front grille of the new Caoa Chery Tiggo 7 maintains the diamond pattern.

The Caoa Chery SUV has been gaining ground in the Brazilian market. In 2023, 6,350 units were sold, but this number jumped to 39,897 last year, a growth of almost 400%. Since 2019, more than 55,000 units have been sold.
