New model promises to eliminate the need for TAGs, reduce costs and make toll payments more affordable
The tolls in Brazil, which moves around R$ 20 billion annually, has been facing a growing challenge since 2023. The payment with TAGs, dominated by companies such as Nonstop, speed e ConnectCar, is still inaccessible to most drivers.
Although there are 83 million registered vehicles, barely 12 million use TAGs for automatic payment. This difference lengthens lines, increases wait times, and raises the cost of daily commutes.
In response, a new company wants to change this scenario. Founded in 2024, MyToll, a startup created by people from São Paulo Danilo Tavares e Eder Regiani, proposes a solution without stickers, queues or monthly fees.

Automatic payment without TAG and without monthly fees
The proposal of MyToll is innovative and direct. The system dispenses the use of TAGs and uses automatic reading of the vehicle license plate to identify the driver and record the payment.
The value is processed via Pix, without additional fees or intermediaries. According to data released by the company in September 2025, tests are already underway at toll plazas in São Paulo.
The signed contracts provide for R$ 5 million in revenue in the first year e R$ 10 million until December 2025, according to internal projections.
The eliminates monthly fees and membership costs, making the service more accessible to self-employed drivers and small transporters, which represent a large part of the traffic on national highways.
"We never want to charge a monthly fee, and we will do everything we can to ensure that this doesn't happen.”, Stated Danilo Tavares in an interview with Exame magazine, in October 2025.
How the system works in practice
When the vehicle passes through the toll booth, the system recognizes the plate automatically. It then records the value and sends an immediate notification to the driver.
Payment is made directly via PixOr this eliminates queues, intermediaries and delaysThis way, the process becomes faster and more transparent for all users.
Furthermore, the solution reduces operating costs and CO₂ emissions, since vehicles spend less time parked in the cabins.
According to a mobility sector experts, the system can generate annual savings of up to R$60 million, considering only the first years of implementation.
with the promise of end queues, increase efficiency e democratize access, the startup challenges companies that control 80% of the national toll market since 2018, according to the Union of Highway Concessionaires.
Innovation that promises to transform the future of tolls
A MyToll inaugurates a new era in Brazilian road infrastructure. Its model, based on instant payment via Pix e optical license plate reading, follows the trend of digitalization of mobility.
This transformation has been growing since the creation of Pix by the Central Bank in 2020, which drove fast, low-cost payment solutions across the country.
If consolidated until 2026, the system may drastically reduce dealership costs e improve road flow, benefiting millions of drivers.
With the support of experienced professionals and a focus on automation and financial inclusion, MyToll shows that it is possible travel around Brazil without TAG, without queues and without monthly fees.
