Launched by Avello, the AZ160 XTREME enters the competitive trail segment with a package of standard equipment, injected engine, and aggressive pricing.
The trail motorcycle segment, the second best-selling in Brazil, has just gained a new competitor. The manufacturer Avello from Pernambuco has launched the AZ160 XTREME, a motorcycle with an adventurous look, consumption of up to 35 km/l, and a suggested retail price below R$ 18,000, positioning itself as a direct alternative to the well-established Honda NXR 160 Bros and Yamaha Crosser 150.
With a package of equipment that includes items usually sold as accessories, the new trail aims to win over consumers looking for a versatile motorcycle for both asphalt and dirt, but with a lower acquisition cost. Avello’s strategy is to offer a competitive and well-equipped product to gain traction in a market dominated by giants.
Who Is Avello, the Manufacturer of the AZ160 XTREME?
Located in the state of Pernambuco, Avello has been operating in the Brazilian market since 2008, selling motorcycle models imported from China and assembled in Brazil. Before launching the trail, the company focused on two low-displacement models, the AZ1 and the AZ 125, a competitor to the Honda Biz.

What Does the New Trail Offer?

The design of the AZ160 XTREME is aggressive and follows the adventurous line of the category. One of its major differentiators is the accessory package that comes standard, representing savings for the buyer. The motorcycle comes equipped with a engine guard and fairing, fork protector (gaiter), and a small windshield to improve aerodynamics.
The lighting is full LED, including headlight, taillight, and turn signals. The dashboard is 100% digital and includes information such as gear indicator. Another standard convenience is the presence of a 12V outlet with two outputs, one USB-A and the other USB-C.
Engine, Suspension, and Brakes
The AZ160 XTREME is equipped with a single-cylinder engine with electronic injection and electric start. It generates 12.3 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 1.1 kgf.m. The transmission is five-speed, and according to Avello, the actual top speed of the motorcycle is 110 km/h.
The trail proposal is reinforced by the long-travel suspensions, with 180 mm in the front and 150 mm in the rear (monoshock). The wheels are spoked, with 19-inch in the front and 17-inch in the rear, and the brakes are disc on both wheels, with a combined CBS system that distributes braking force between the axles when the rear pedal is activated. The motorcycle weighs 136 kg (dry) and its fuel tank has a capacity of 13 liters.
Is It Worth Buying the New Trail from Avello?
The AZ160 XTREME arrives on the market with a suggested retail price of R$ 17,990 (excluding shipping) and is available in three colors. With an estimated consumption of up to 35 km/l, it presents itself as an economical option.
The motorcycle positions itself as an entry point into the trail segment, appealing with cost-effectiveness and the equipment package. Although its engine is less powerful than direct competitors, its aggressive price and standard items may be decisive factors for consumers looking for a versatile motorcycle for everyday use, capable of handling both asphalt and dirt without requiring a large investment.
