Xiaomi's new electric V8 engine could reach the automotive market in 2025. The engine will be capable of delivering 578 hp and reaching 35 RPM.
After the launch of its first electric car, the Berlina SU7, which loses around 10 thousand euros on each unit sold, in addition to a significant drop in delivery times, Xiaomi announced that it is developing a new electric V8 engine capable of reaching a power of 578 hp at 27.200 RPM. The estimate is that by the end of the project the thruster will be able to reach 35 thousand RPM.

Xiaomi's new electric V8 engine will arrive to join the V6 and V6s thrusters of the HyperEngine family, debuted in the SU7, which seek replace gasoline combustion engines in this new era of modern electric cars.
The reference to six and eight cylinder V engines, which transmit to the universe of combustion cars, despite being less and less popular, may even make sense. The engines used in the Chinese electric car, available in rear- and all-wheel drive configurations, have a power of 230 kW (299 hp) and 275 kW (374 hp), respectively. O V6 delivers 400 Nm of torque and uses a 400V architecture.
The V6s, in turn, has a torque increase of 500 Nm, but already uses an 800V architecture. In both cases, the maximum speed is reached at 21 thousand RPM.
O Xiaomi electric car promises a maximum speed of 265 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2,78 seconds. Returning to Xiaomi's electric V8 engine, according to the Spanish website “Motor Diary” state that the Chinese company plans to start production of the propellant in 2025, which will be introduced in its new electric cars.
Xiaomi's electric V8 engine can reach 35 thousand RPM
Xiaomi will launch its even more advanced electric V8 engine, following the example of Tesla with its carbon engine rotors. The North American manufacturer has developed a technique to apply a carbon coating to the engine using a mesh, which will create high-resistance rotors, capable of achieving higher rotational speeds and more power. Xiaomi's electric V8 engine is expected to reach 35 RPM.
It is worth noting that, in addition to the SU7 sedan, Xiaomi announced in September last year the SSC SC-01, an electric sports car with characteristics of classic combustion models.
In Chinese, the electric sedan it's called XiaoPaoChe, which in free translation is something similar to small sports. The vehicle weighs just 1.370 kg due to its tubular steel chassis. In this way, the 431 horsepower and all-wheel drive offered by the two electric motors are enough to take the model from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3,5 seconds.
New revolutionary 500 horsepower engine
In addition to this new electric V8 engine from Xiaomi, a company called Equipmake, based in Norfolk, United Kingdom, has developed the HPM-400 engine, a new electric motor weighing just 40 kg but with exceptionally high power, marking a potential breakthrough in the global automotive industry.
With a 30 kg engine and 10 kg silicon carbide inverter, it has the capacity to deliver a maximum of 400 kW, equivalent to 544 horsepower and 250 Nm, while rotating at up to 20 thousand RPM. With extraordinary power density, the HPM-400 engine is recognized as the most powerful in the world and was presented at the “Future Propulsion” conference, held last year in the United Kingdom.
