Last year, the Brazilian Navy launched a market survey regarding the construction of the NApAnt, which will replace the Oceanographic Support Ship Ary Rongel. The submission of proposals is expected by the end of this year, with the final announcement of the winner by mid-2021.
If the Wilson Sons and Damen consortium wins the bid, the ship will be built at Wilson Sons’ shipyards in Guarujá, in the state of São Paulo. A minimum of 45% local content is required, and investments are estimated at around R$ 750 million.
