According to Vestas’ president for Latin America, Eduardo Ricotta, the company’s service solutions and extensive supply chain aim to provide value to its clients throughout the lifecycle of the wind farm, whether for Vestas turbines or third-party technology, thus enhancing the company’s market experience and global presence.

Furthermore, Vestas’ president stated that with Vestas’ service contract, it will be possible to strengthen and optimize the energy production of the projects, in addition to providing long-term commercial security for Renova Energia.

Ricardo Lira, operations director of Renova Energia, said that the company is pleased to appoint Vestas as its long-term maintenance service provider to serve the 155 wind turbines of the Alto Sertão 3, Phase A complex.

In Argentina, Vestas signed an agreement with Pampa Energia. This contract aims to supply turbines to the De la Bahia 2 wind farm of 81MW in the country. According to Eduardo Ricotta, president of Vestas for Latin America, Vestas, an independent leader in energy in Argentina, is pleased to broaden its partnership with Pampa Energia.

The project, located near the city of Bahia Blanca in the Buenos Aires province, is an extension of the De la Bahia project, which has been operational since 2019. With this investment, Pampa Energía reinforces its commitment to sustainable energy resource production and environmental care. The combined capacity of the wind farm will reach a total of 187 MW.

To ensure this order, Vestas, which serves over 123 GW of wind turbines, including more than 8 GW of non-Vestas turbines across over 30 non-Vestas turbine models in 25 countries and more than 300 sites, leveraged its industry-leading service footprint to deliver another multi-brand service contract in Brazil.

The order for maintenance and operation for 155 wind turbines in Bahia includes 18 V150-4.5MW turbines, as well as a 20-year active production management service contract valued at 5,000.

Delivery is expected in the third quarter of 2022, with commissioning scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.

The president of Pampa Energia, Marcelo Mindlin, stated that the reliability and competitiveness of the 4 MW platform combined with the 20-year service contract should optimize asset performance, providing significant value for clean energy generation.

Pampa Energia and Vestas are also responsible for developing the Mario Cebreiro Wind Complex of 100 MW, located in the same region and operational since 2018.
