The temporary employment agency WE CAN BR announced that it will open more than 50 thousand temporary job vacancies for this second half of the year. As the end of the year approaches, the demand for temporary professionals increases, especially in the retail, industrial, logistics and healthcare sectors. The scenario is promising. According to the Brazilian Temporary Work Association (Asserttem), 565 thousand temporary vacancies are expected in the last quarter of the year alone, an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2023. This growth is driven by the favorable economic outlook and high demand in sectors such as retail and e-commerce, which traditionally hire more to meet the increase in sales during the holiday season. In the first half of this year, there was a 25% increase in temporary hiring compared to last year.

Path to the selection process

Temporary work is not only a quick solution for those who are unemployed, but also a gateway to a permanent job. In Brazil, the hiring rate for temporary workers varies between 15% and 25%, depending on the sector and time of year.

At the end of 2023, this rate was around 22%, showing stability compared to previous years. Lucas Santos, CEO of WE CAN BR, highlights: “Temporary professionals who demonstrate good performance, adapt well to the company culture and show commitment have a greater chance of being hired.”

Rights and benefits

Temporary hiring is governed by Law 6.019/74, which establishes specific conditions for this type of work. After the selection process, Contracts can be extended for up to nine months, and temporary workers have rights similar to those of employees with a permanent contract, such as FGTS, INSS, proportional vacations and 13th salary.

This type of hiring offers agility for companies, allowing quick adjustments to the workforce, whether to meet production peaks or replace employees on leave.
