Ambev and Triciclo-Ambipar Are Joining Forces to Promote Recycling in SP and Installed 10 Machines Where Users Deposit Packaging and Can Receive Points to Exchange for Various Benefits
What if recyclable packaging, which would be thrown away, could be turned into prepaid cell phone credit and transportation vouchers, discounts at bookstores, or bonuses on electricity bills? This is the proposal by Ambev and Triciclo-Ambipar, linked to the Ambipar Group. They installed 10 machines in the capital of SP called Retorna Machine, where post-consumption packaging is deposited through a rewards and loyalty program.

Beyond Sustainability, Job Creation
According to data from the Brazilian Association of Public Cleaning Companies and Special Waste (Abrelpe), Brazil generates about 80 million tons of waste annually, of which only 4% is recycled.
This issue also deserves a reflection that goes beyond environmental preservation, which is in itself of utmost importance. However, recycling is also a source of job and income generation for many Brazilians.
Data from the entity shows that Brazil loses R$ 14 billion annually due to the lack of recycling. What ends up in the city landfills could be used to generate jobs and income in recycling cooperatives, going beyond fulfilling the mission of preserving the environment.
