After Ford Prevented the Sale of Troller’s Factory in Horizonte, Ceará, Operations Have a Deadline to Be Shut Down and Starting Next Month, the Dismissal of 450 Employees Will Begin Gradually
The operations of the Troller factory in Ceará will be closed in December 2021. The automaker Ford is already planning to dismiss several employees from the plant starting next month in October. The dismissal will occur gradually and will be applied to one sector at a time, based on demand. This is because, although Troller’s production is expected to end this month, the Ceará utility brand must work to fulfill orders that had already been placed earlier. This transition, considering the final delivery and the closing of the factory, should be completed by the end of the year.

The information was confirmed by Nilton Pereira, president of the Metalworkers’ Union of Maracanaú, who is alongside Ford and the employees to ensure that all rights are guaranteed for collaborators who still work in Troller’s production in Ceará.

Ford Does Not Accept the Sale of the Factory in Ceará

There is no confirmation of the number of vehicles that should be delivered by the end of the year. The deadlock related to the transaction was confirmed by Maia Júnior, Secretary of Economic Development and Labor of the State Government. According to Maia, the matter has already been closed by the Ford automaker, and when contacted for comment, they did not respond to any inquiries.
