Study finds Gautam Adani and Jensen Huang complete the top 3 in the race for the first trillion dollars

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and owner of Platform X (formerly Twitter), is on track to become the first trillionaire in history, according to the report “Trillion Dollar Club 2024”, published by Informa Connect Academy. The survey, released in September 2024, indicates that, with a net worth of US$ 195 billion and a rate of growth of 109,88% per year, Musk must hit the mark impressive $1 trillion by 2027, according to the website Poder 360.

The exponential growth of Elon Musk

Elon Musk, known for his futuristic ambitions and technological innovations, has been increasing its assets mainly through its companies Tesla and SpaceX, in addition to his recent foray into the world of social media with the purchase of X. According to the study, the pace of growth of Musk's fortune is unprecedented, and he is the favorite to inaugurate the select club of trillionaires within just three years. This would put him in a historic position as the richest man the world has ever seen.

Who's in the race for the trillion, besides Elon Musk?

Right behind Elon Musk comes the name of Gautam Adani, founder of the Adani Group, an Indian conglomerate that operates in areas such as infrastructure, energy and natural resources. Adani has a fortune estimated at US$84 billion and presents a rate of 122,86% annual growth. It is expected that he will reach the trillion dollars by 2028, right after Musk.

Another prominent name in the report is Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, a leading company in the chip and artificial intelligence sector. Huang is well positioned to become a trillionaire by 2028 as well, driven by Nvidia's accelerated advance in the semiconductor and AI markets, crucial sectors in the global digital transformation.

In addition to Huang, Prajogo Pangestu, Indonesian tycoon of Barito Pacific Group, also appears on the list of potential trillionaires, expected to be born in 2028. He is followed by two heavyweights of the global economy: Bernard Arnault, head of the luxury conglomerate LVMH, and Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta. Both are expected to reach a trillion by 2030 if their fortunes continue to grow at the current rate.

The future of trillion-dollar companies

In addition to individuals, Informa Connect Academy also provided predictions for companies that could reach the trillion-dollar mark in the coming years. TSMC, a Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer and the third largest in the world in its segment, leads the list of companies. With one market valuation of $893,7 billion and an average growth rate of 32,14%, TSMC is well positioned to reach the $1 trillion mark as early as 2025.
