Senior Sistemas to Invest in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, and New Digital Products, Aiming to Create 53 Skilled Jobs

BNDES has approved R$ 241.3 million (about US$45 million) in financing for Senior Sistemas, a Brazilian technology company based in Blumenau, Santa Catarina. The funds will be used to develop management solutions with natively incorporated artificial intelligence, as well as modernize platforms and create new digital products, according to information published by the BNDES News Agency.

The funds come from the BNDES Mais Inovação program. In addition, the company aims to direct investments towards cloud computing, machine learning, and system integration.

The plan will be executed by January 2028 and is expected to create around 53 skilled direct jobs, according to the company.

Underlying this investment is a broader transformation. Senior aims to integrate AI more deeply into the business software used by its clients, ensuring it is not just an additional resource.

R$ 241.3 Million to Finance a New Generation of Software with AI

Senior Sistemas is engaged in developing business management software.

Its portfolio includes solutions for ERP, human resources management, logistics, risk management, and process automation. Currently, the company serves approximately 14,000 clients and operates in various markets across Latin America.

Now, the financing opens up opportunities to accelerate technological development.

One of the main focuses will be native artificial intelligence.

In practice, the intention is to incorporate the technology directly into management systems, instead of treating it merely as an external tool.

Additionally, the funds will support research and development activities.

This operation occurs at a time when large companies are ramping up investments in artificial intelligence, automation, and computational infrastructure.

Artificial Intelligence Has Been Part of Senior for Over a Decade

Although the new investment is significant, the company is not just starting to work with AI now.

According to Jean Paul Vieira, Senior’s Marketing and Product Director, artificial intelligence has been part of the company’s technological journey for over ten years.

Currently, the technology is already present in its portfolio through intelligent agents and new modes of interaction between generative AIs and management systems.

However, the new plan aims to expand this presence.

Thus, the company seeks to transform technological advancements into greater productivity, intelligence, and automation for its clients.

Cloud and Machine Learning Will Also Receive Investments

While AI is the most eye-catching element of the project, it will not be the only focus.

Part of the R$ 241.3 million will be allocated to cloud computing.

Another area will involve machine learning.

Furthermore, Senior plans to invest in integrating different systems.

This will allow the company to modernize existing platforms in the market.

At the same time, it will be able to develop new digital products.

This point is important because enterprise software manages critical areas of companies.

They can control everything from employees and inventory to logistics, finance, and internal processes.

Therefore, incorporating new technologies into these systems can directly alter how companies make decisions and automate tasks.

Technology Expected to Reach Important Sectors of the Economy

The impact may also extend beyond the software sector.

According to BNDES, Senior’s solutions serve companies in areas such as agribusiness, construction, industry, logistics, and services.

These are sectors with complex operations.

As a result, small productivity improvements can produce significant effects when applied on a large scale.

An AI system can, for example, help interpret business data. Machine learning algorithms can identify patterns and support automated processes.

However, BNDES’s note does not detail all the products that will result from the project.

What is confirmed is the allocation of resources for R&D, AI, cloud computing, machine learning, system integration, and the development of digital products.

Project Expected to Create 53 Qualified Jobs in Research and Development

The funding will also have a direct consequence on the professional landscape.

According to Senior, the plan is expected to generate approximately 53 direct qualified jobs.

The positions will be related to the research and development activities covered by the project.

Thus, the investment will not only be directed toward the purchase of technological infrastructure.

It also involves professionals responsible for developing the new solutions.

This combination becomes particularly important in AI projects. After all, enterprise software needs to combine engineering, data, development, and knowledge of the processes that will be automated.

Senior Serves Approximately 14,000 Clients

The company’s current scale helps gauge the potential reach of new technologies.

Headquartered in Blumenau, Senior Sistemas serves approximately 14,000 clients and operates in various Latin American markets.

Moreover, recent financial figures show a company in expansion.

In the second quarter, Senior reported net revenue of R$ 354.9 million, a 23.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Net profit reached R$ 75.4 million, up 14%. Annualized recurring revenue exceeded R$ 1.3 billion, according to data published by Baguete.

Therefore, the funding goes to a company that already has a significant operation in Brazil’s technology market.

Now, the challenge will be to transform the capital into new products.

Resources Will Be Utilized Until January 2028

The plan has a defined timeline.

The R$ 241.3 million will be utilized until January 2028.

During this period, Senior is expected to update existing products and develop new solutions.

Additionally, the project aims to expand the company’s portfolio.

Consequently, the coming months are expected to focus on research, development, and implementation of the planned technologies.

The funding is part of BNDES Mais Inovação, a program used by the bank to support innovation and digitalization projects.

In this case, the focus will be specifically on technologies that have gained prominence with the expansion of generative artificial intelligence.

BNDES bets on AI applied to Brazilian companies

The project also reflects a shift in the way artificial intelligence reaches the real economy.

Much of the recent attention has been on chatbots, image generation, and large language models.

However, there is another race happening behind the scenes.

Companies want to integrate AI directly into the systems that control their operations.

In this scenario, management software could become one of the main gateways for the technology into everyday business operations.

After all, these platforms already concentrate vast amounts of data and processes.

With integrated artificial intelligence, they can enhance automation and help companies extract more insights from that data.

The race for advanced technology also increases the demand for specialized professionals.

Therefore, the 53 skilled jobs anticipated by the project represent another direct consequence of the investment.

R$ 241.3 million puts AI at the center of Senior’s next cycle

The operation approved by BNDES showcases impressive figures.

It involves R$ 241.3 million in financing, approximately 14,000 clients served by Senior, and 53 new skilled jobs forecasted.

In addition, the resources will have a clear destination: artificial intelligence, cloud computing, machine learning, systems integration, and new digital products.

The plan will extend until January 2028.

Thus, a Brazilian company already developing software for thousands of clients will have over R$ 240 million available to accelerate its technological transformation.

And the main bet lies precisely in a technology that is beginning to change how companies manage people, logistics, risks, and processes: artificial intelligence directly integrated into management systems.
