During the PDAC, the Brazilian Mining Day will be held, which will position Brazil on topics related to investments in mining, sustainability, regulatory advances, as well as showcase a broad showcase of projects in different stages of development in emerging mineral provinces of Brazil.
The Annual Convention of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) in Toronto, Canada, which will take place in person from June 13 to 15, is one of the most important events for international business in mineral exploration and mining. The PDAC brings together around 130 countries, including Brazil, and more than 20 thousand professionals who discuss global prospects for the sector and serve as a platform for negotiations on mineral projects and investment attraction.
This year, Brazil will again be present at the PDAC as “Mining Country Sponsor” of the event, with a delegation composed of approximately 80 professionals from private companies, government agencies, and representative entities from the mineral sector, coordinated by the Agency for the Development and Innovation of the Brazilian Mineral Sector (ADIMB).
“This year’s PDAC is full of expectation. ADIMB worked hard to enable Brazil’s participation in the event. It is important to highlight the support we received from the Ministry of Mines and Energy, CPRM, and ANN to organize Brazil’s participation in the event. This year we are continuing our strategic partnership with the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce,” highlights Marcos André Gomes Veiga Gonçalves, president of the Superior Council of ADIMB.

Marcos André explains that Brazil’s participation in the event will peak with the Brazilian Mining Day, which will take place in two parts: on June 13 at TSX, Toronto Stock Exchange, and then on June 14 at Metro Center Toronto Convention Centre, where the PDAC is held.
“On June 13, we will have presentations and discussions about success stories, as well as an overview of mineral exploration projects in Brazil. “We will address relevant topics for mining in Brazil, such as sustainability, project financing, and regulatory advances,” says Marcos André.
Brazil Is an Extremely Strategic Country When It Comes to Mining Business
The executive also mentions that the second part of the Brazilian Mining Day, on June 14 during the PDAC, will include panels where opportunities, business, and challenges for investments in mining projects in the country will be presented. “It is an excellent opportunity to hear about the difficulties and lessons learned. We will close the day with a speech from the president of the Mining Committee of the National Confederation of Industry, Sandro Mabel. It is a strong signal for CNI to show interest in the sector, making it a point to be present at such an important event for the Brazilian mineral sector,” he assesses.
The executive director of ADIMB, Roberto Xavier, explains that the activities organized by ADIMB in collaboration with the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (BCCC) will demonstrate to participants and international investors at the PDAC the economic potential and infrastructure for the sustainable development of mineral exploration and mining in Brazil.
“Brazilian Mining Day will position Brazil on topics related to strategic minerals in the global energy transition, as well as showcase a series of projects in different phases of development in emerging mineral provinces of Brazil. In addition, there will be topics addressing the challenges and opportunities for attracting investments in sustainable mineral projects in the country, supported by regulatory advances and a strong geological data basis, with active government participation, including SGM/MME, ANM, BNDES, and the Geological Service of Brazil,” comments Roberto Xavier.
Brazil Pavilion – Xavier also highlights that Brazil will have its traditional booth at the PDAC Trade Show. “The booth, at 90 m2, will be a reference space that will provide government and business representatives with an excellent support infrastructure for commercial contacts and conducting business,” he states.
Brazilian Mining Day (BMD) aims to provide a comprehensive economic and infrastructure scenario that, combined with success stories from large companies and junior companies in diversified geological environments, can promote Brazil as one of the main destinations for investments in mineral exploration and mining. Brazilian participation is a joint initiative of the main associations of the mineral industry in Brazil, the Federal Government, and private companies to promote the Brazilian mineral sector during PDAC 2022.
The agenda for Brazil during PDAC 2022 is coordinated by the Agency for the Development and Innovation of the Brazilian Mineral Sector (ADIMB), with support from the Brazilian Institute of Mining (IBRAM), the Brazilian Association of Mineral Research and Mining (ABPM), and the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (BCCC – Toronto).
