BYD Dolphin Mini, Entry Model, Chinese Automaker, National Production in Camaçari (BA), Following Chinese Cycle.
The new BYD launch is set to arrive in Brazil, with an expected arrival in March. The model, known in China as Seagull, will be called BYD Dolphin Mini here and in other Latin American countries. This information was confirmed by Jorge Moraes in his column on the UOL portal, which released the launch schedule for the brand’s most affordable electric vehicle.
The BYD Dolphin Mini, based on the Ocean line and part of the family that includes the Dolphin and Seal models, will initially be imported from China to Brazil. However, there are plans for local production at the Camaçari (BA) factory, where the production of the Dolphin, Song Plus, and Yuan Plus models has already been confirmed. The expansion of production reinforces BYD’s commitment to the Brazilian and Latin American markets.

BYD: Sales Success with the Entry Model Dolphin Mini
A few days ago, at the end of November, BYD surprised the market by announcing that the small Seagull/Dolphin Mini reached the milestone of 200,000 units produced. This achievement is even more impressive considering that the electric entry-level car from the Chinese automaker reached this feat in just 7 months on the market, following its launch in April, which demonstrates its excellent acceptance.

Despite the lack of confirmation from BYD regarding the battery option and range for the compact in Brazil, it is estimated that the initial price of the car will be around R$ 100,000, which will certainly boost the entry-level electric car segment, impacting models like Renault Kwid E-Tech and JAC e-JS1.
