Learn More About the ID.3 and ID.4, Two Volkswagen Electric Car Models Coming to Energize the Brazilian Market
The Volkswagen electric cars called ID.3 and ID.4 are being showcased in Brazil, and they come with an important mission: to help popularize the category in the country. This is quite a challenge, but the manufacturer brought vehicles with a youthful and extremely high-tech appearance, combining a more spacious cabin and ease of driving, everything that attracts people interested in practical, smart, and eco-friendly cars.

Powerful Electric Cars with Various Features
Both vehicles feature a 204-horsepower battery-powered engine. The plugin system includes fast charging, allowing you to charge up to 80% of the battery in approximately 50 minutes, considering a DC charge.
The ID.4 has a superior battery pack compared to the ID.3, allowing it to have greater range. According to the European WLTP cycle, the Volkswagen ID.3 has an estimated range of up to 426 km, while the ID.4 has a range of up to 522 km.

The German economist Wolf-Peter Schill has no doubts: “Electric cars are already far superior to cars with internal combustion engines.”
The range is greater for the ID.4; however, it makes it a bit less efficient than the ID.3, as it is about 390 kg heavier, due to its batteries.
An interesting detail about both vehicles is that neither has gears. Like other vehicles of this type, the automatic transmission is on the steering wheel, and you have the space of the gear lever for other functionalities, like storage for objects.
Speaking of functionalities, all the vehicle’s panels are 100% digital, with various functions that will surprise you, including some with augmented reality. All the car buttons are touchscreen style, making the vehicle’s interior minimalist, interesting, and modern.

There is also the possibility to connect multiple mobile phones to the vehicle, as well as using many functionalities through voice commands.
Are Electric Cars Safe?
As expected, the vehicles also have various driver aids, such as intelligent braking and other co-pilot modes that assist in driving the vehicle.
As mentioned, both models have automatic transmission and also do not have a handbrake, so to allow the car to run, all you need to do is start the car, press the brake pedal, and switch the selector on the steering wheel to position D, a technology we also find in other electric vehicles like the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
In addition, there are four driving modes: Sport, Eco, Individual, and Comfort, which alter the vehicle’s responses, allowing your experience to be even better.
One of the innovations that garnered a lot of attention is the use of augmented reality to facilitate GPS navigation. Especially in more complex moments, such as turning corners, you will receive a notification directly on the windshield, with arrows indicating which direction you need to turn and the distance to the turn, so you won’t need to take your eyes off the road.
Are These Cars Confirmed for Brazil?
This is information that is not yet 100% guaranteed, but there is a good chance that at least the ID.4 will come to Brazil, as its larger size makes it very competitive in the sedan category against other vehicles of the type.
One of the biggest questions that might prevent these vehicles from succeeding initially here is the devalued currency and high import taxes.
At this moment, to avoid competing with other models like the Volvo C40 Recharge and the Audi e-tron, the Volkswagen ID.4 is expected to cost up to R$300,000, while the vehicle’s sale price in Germany is €44,915, which is about R$285,000 at the current exchange rate.
