CEFET-RJ (Federal Center for Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca) has opened the registration period for free undergraduate courses in 2026. There are 450 slots distributed between the courses in Technology in Tourism Management, with 250 opportunities, and Production Engineering, with 200 slots.

The teaching model is semi-presential, allowing students flexibility with online classes and completing mandatory activities, such as exams, in person at regional centers across the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Registrations must be made by October 30, 2025, exclusively online.

Which Free Courses Are Available and How Many Slots Does CEFET-RJ Offer?

The entrance exam for 2026 offers slots for two highly sought-after free courses: Technology in Tourism Management and Production Engineering.

There are 250 slots for the first and 200 for the second.

Both are taught in a semi-presential format, meaning that students attend online classes but must be present at regional centers for exams and other important in-person activities.

This format allows students to balance their studies with other daily responsibilities.

Where Are the CEFET-RJ Service Centers Located?

The service centers for in-person attendance are strategically located in several cities in Rio de Janeiro, expanding access to the free undergraduate courses of CEFET-RJ 2026.

Who Can Register for the Selection Process?

The selection process for competing for free slots in CEFET courses is open to candidates who have completed high school or equivalent by the registration date.

Additionally, it is possible to compete for slots using the ENEM score from the years 2022, 2023, or 2024.

However, federal legislation stipulates that a student cannot occupy two slots simultaneously in public institutions, a rule that will be applied in this entrance exam.

What Is the Registration and Selection Process?

Registrations are made exclusively online until October 30, 2025. The registration fee is R$ 89.90, with payment due by the last day of registration.

The CEFET selection will be conducted through an objective test with 45 multiple-choice questions and an essay, which will take place on December 7, 2025, starting at 10 a.m.

Each free course has specific subjects for the test: Production Engineering will include questions from Mathematics and Physics, while Tourism Management will cover Geography and History.

This specificity aims to assess knowledge directly related to the areas of study.

When Will the Result Be Announced and When Do Classes Start?

The final result of the entrance exam is expected to be announced on January 7, 2026.

Shortly after, those approved in the free undergraduate courses must complete registration for the start of the first academic semester, which marks the beginning of classes.
