However, something surprising happened recently: the Chinese manufacturer Dayun decided to create the Dayun V9, a truck that is clearly inspired by the iconic Volvo FH. The Dayun V9 is a clear imitation of the Volvo FH, especially in its exterior design. Upon observing the V9, we notice that elements such as the door handles, mirrors, and windshield are surprisingly similar to those of the Swedish truck. The V9’s front differs in some aspects, with straight bars contrasting with the honeycomb design of the Volvo FH, but there are still notable visual touchpoints, such as the headlight assembly.

Dayun did not skimp on technology and resources. The V9 comes equipped with features such as start&stop, air conditioning, electric trio, and automatic activation of headlights and windshield wipers. The truck also has LED cabin lights, ASR and ESP systems, automatic emergency braking, and front collision warning. These features demonstrate Dayun’s effort to compete in the truck market.

The engine of the Dayun V9 is the Weichai WP12.460E50 11.6-liter, a six-cylinder inline that generates an impressive 460 hp of power and 2,110 Nm of torque. For export, Dayun offers the Cummins Euro 6 with 510 hp. Both engines can be combined with the Fast Gear automated transmission of 16 speeds, with the selector positioned similarly to Volvo FH’s I-Shift system.
