New 320-Meter Tower Will Be The Tallest In Latin America By 2027. But Its Reign Will Be Short-Lived: The Senna Tower, In Brazil, Will Reach 550 Meters In 2033.

With a height of 320 meters, a new skyscraper in Punta del Este, Uruguay, is about to become the tallest tower in Latin America, surpassing all residential buildings in the region to date. Part of the luxurious Cipriani Resort Residences & Casino complex, the building is set to be completed in 2027 and brings a new level of sophistication and boldness to one of the continent’s trendiest tourist destinations.

But the title of “tallest in Latin America” will not last long: starting in 2033, the reign will be challenged by the Senna Tower, designed for Balneário Camboriú, which promises to reach an impressive height of 550 meters, becoming the tallest residential building in the world.

New 320-Meter Tower In Punta Del Este Will Be The Tallest In Latin America

The project, which involves an estimated investment of US$ 500 million, is being developed by renowned Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly, known for iconic works such as 432 Park Avenue in New York.

The 320-meter tower is part of the second phase of the Cipriani Resort and will feature 68 residences and 120 suites, offering panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and cutting-edge home technology.

The apartments will have 3.4-meter high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and smart systems for controlling services such as concierge, valet, and security. The units will have an initial value starting from US$ 1.725 million, reinforcing the project’s premium profile.

Additionally, the building will be constructed on the site of the legendary Hotel San Rafael, an icon of South American high society in the 20th century, which will be completely revitalized as part of the proposal to unite the past and future at the same address.

Tallest Skyscraper In Brazil: Senna Tower In Balneário Camboriú Promises To Take The Crown

If the new tower in Punta del Este will hold the title of the tallest in Latin America in 2027, Brazil already has a date set to surpass it: 2033, with the inauguration of the Senna Tower in Balneário Camboriú (SC). The Brazilian project, which honors the driver Ayrton Senna, aims to reach 550 meters in height, placing it as the tallest residential building on the planet.

The Senna Tower is part of Balneário Camboriú’s ongoing verticalization, known as the “Brazilian Dubai” due to the concentration of luxury skyscrapers in a narrow coastal strip. The project is already attracting global attention for its bold proposal and its direct competition with large Asian and American towers.

Tallest Tower In Latin America Integrates Luxury Resort With Casino And Exclusive Club

The tower in Punta del Este is not just a residential building. It is part of the Cipriani Resort Residences & Casino, which will be one of the largest hospitality ventures in South America. The first phase, featuring a hotel with 64 rooms, a casino, a restaurant, a bar, a VIP lounge, and a beach club, is scheduled for completion in 2026.

The Cipriani Casino will feature more than 300 gaming stations, an exclusive restaurant, and even a private club that promises to revive the spirit of sophisticated nightlife that made Punta del Este famous in the 1960s and 1970s.

According to Giuseppe Cipriani, CEO of the group, the project was specially designed for the Brazilian audience, known for their interest in luxury resorts and high-standard experiences.

Historical Legacy And Contemporary Architecture In The Same Project

More than just height and luxury, the project also has a symbolic mission: to reconstruct the Hotel San Rafael, inaugurated in 1948 and for decades an icon of the Latin American elite. Architect Román Viñoly, partner in the studio founded by his father Rafael Viñoly, emphasizes that the project combines “architectural excellence, respect for history, and personal experiences provided by good architecture.”

Combining bold design and residential technology, the tower is expected to become a visual landmark of the Uruguayan coast — and a symbol of urban renewal and sophistication for the city.

Casa Cipriani São Paulo: Italian Luxury Arrives In Brazil

Alongside the megaproject in Punta del Este, the Cipriani group is also planning to expand its operations in Brazil with the inauguration of Casa Cipriani In São Paulo By 2028. The concept, inspired by Harry’s Bar in Venice and present in cities like New York and Milan, will be implemented in the Jardins neighborhood with a focus on ultra-luxurious hospitality.

The São Paulo unit will be a private club with few rooms, an exclusive restaurant, and services such as butler, 24-hour concierge, and courtesy car, consolidating the brand’s positioning among high-end consumers.

Urban Transformation Focused On High-End Real Estate

The rise of the tallest tower in Latin America is not only an architectural feat but also a reflection of an urban transformation movement focused on high-income audiences. With multimillion-dollar priced apartments and top-tier services, the development raises the standard of luxury real estate on the continent.

Furthermore, the project symbolizes the resurgence of high-value developments in tourist regions with strong appeal among Brazilians, such as Punta del Este, which is returning to the radar of international hospitality investments.

The 320-meter tower of the Cipriani Resort Residences in Punta del Este will place Uruguay at the top of the Latin American skyscraper rankings — at least until the arrival of the Senna Tower in Balneário Camboriú.

More than an engineering achievement, the development is a landmark in the combination of luxury, history, and architectural innovation, promoting a new reference in urbanism and high-end tourism in the region.
