With Other Renewable Energy Projects in the Country, Voltalia Will Build Another Wind Farm and Create Many Job Opportunities

The water crisis in Brazil has opened up space for more companies in the renewable energy sector to invest more in the country. Although solar energy is currently on the rise, where large companies are making million-dollar investments, wind energy is also attracting significant attention. An example of this is that, last Thursday, the 16th, the international renewable energy company Voltalia promised that new job opportunities will be generated with the construction of a wind farm located in the Sertão do São Francisco, in Canudos.

In addition to benefiting the local population, the investment to be made by the company will also be employed in socio-environmental actions, which should include the preservation and conservation of a native species of the region, the Lear’s Macaw. For the community living near the site, professional courses will be offered, aimed at qualifying residents so they can occupy one of the job openings available.

The professional courses intended for the community are a result of a partnership between Voltalia and SENAI (National Service for Industrial Training). The offered courses are completely free, and upon completion, the students will be prepared to work in their chosen professional field. It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the residents of Canudos, another benefited community is Jeremoabo.

Voltalia operates from the creation of its projects to the sale of the energy generated through its parks. Attempting to contribute and assist the population living in the Canudos region, the company revealed that it has made donations of basic food baskets and protection kits to help mitigate the impacts caused by the Coronavirus.

The Importance of the Wind Farm for Generating New Job Opportunities in the Region

With the vocational courses being offered, the community will have a better chance of securing one of the job openings to be made available by the company. So far, there is no information on when the selection process will start for filling positions. However, Voltalia has promised that with the new project, 700 positions will be offered. Other similar projects have already been created by the company, but in other states in the northeast.

Corroborating the information mentioned above, the CEO of Voltalia in Brazil, Robert Klein, revealed that, “our investments are not only for the enterprise. Voltalia is a renewable energy company that has some principles including environmental preservation and socioeconomic development in its areas of operation. This has been the case in Rio Grande do Norte for 15 years and it couldn’t be different in Bahia. In addition to the enterprise, we are investing in social projects and the programs for the Conservation of the Lear’s Macaw and Replanting of Licuri.”

Even though no specific date has been estimated for when the jobs will be offered, the company has promised that it wants to help the local population. After all, they will be the best alternatives for ensuring that the wind farm project is developed correctly. As they know the area well, they can significantly contribute to ensuring that the partnership with the company is long-lasting.
