The project’s capacity is 28 MW, and it is part of the Serra Branca cluster, which is being developed by Voltalia, with a potential of 2.4 GW.
According to the President of Voltalia in Brazil, Robert Klein, the agreement reflects the company’s ability to deliver a complete project in a competitive manner from development and construction to the end of operation. According to Robert, the company’s cluster is attractive due to all the infrastructure it already has in the region and the projects benefiting from significant economies of scale in the construction process, in connection facilities, as well as in operation and maintenance carried out by the teams.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.

The service agreement will last for eight years and will provide operation and maintenance of the electrical infrastructure of the production process, such as medium voltage networks, substations, and transmission lines, in addition to overseeing the O&M services of wind turbines, conducted by the manufacturer and analyzing their performance.
Operations performed by Voltalia will have staff operating in shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Others will have working hours for administrative tasks, maintenance planning, support, and engineering management. The team will consist of three field service technicians who will work on maintaining the electrical infrastructure and supervising the operation and maintenance activities of the wind turbines.
After the second half of 2020, Voltalia will provide all experience and technology through its operations center in Mossoró (RN), where it will be fully operational in the coming weeks.
