Surprising Once Again, iPhone Manufacturer Apple Claims Its Cars Will Have No Pedals and No Steering Wheels. Additionally, Innovative Electric Cars Have Their Semiconductors Produced by the Same Team That Develops Smartphone Chips

Have you ever imagined a vehicle without pedals or steering wheels? This is Apple’s idea, which is developing its electric cars following this concept, although not exactly as we envision. The project, named Titan, is a 100% electric model with a high level of autonomy, planned to be launched in the iPhone manufacturer’s line of automobiles in 2025. Apple has spent the last few years studying the evolution of the autonomous electric vehicle market, limiting acceleration and steering, as is done with some models on the automotive market.

iPhone Owner Advances in the Electric Car Sector

Apple’s idea is simple: to launch cars as revolutionary as its first iPhone, which was introduced in 2007. However, for this to happen, the company will have to face several other electric car manufacturers that have been working hard on creating autonomous vehicles for a longer time, such as Waymo and Tesla. Even being a newcomer in the electric car market, it seems that the iPhone manufacturer has made significant strides, according to insiders.

The semiconductor chip used in its model is already in an advanced stage of development. The interesting part is that the chip for the model was not developed by the company’s electric vehicle engineering team, but rather by the team of developers who produce chips for the iPhone, Mac, and iPad.

The system has yet to be tested on the streets, but that phase is not too far off. The chip features neural processors capable of working with AI alongside autonomous sensors.

Apple Already Has a Fleet of 69 Vehicles for Testing

The technology will be tested in electric cars prepared by the iPhone manufacturer itself. Apple has a fleet of 69 Lexus SUVs to test its technology experiences, according to a California Department of Motor Vehicles secretary.

High-profile engineers from automakers such as Tesla, Ford, Volkswagen, and Mercedes-Benz have been recruited for the ambitious project that will mark the company’s entry into a market that appears to be more competitive than smartphones, but in this case, it’s still not the “bitten apple” that dominates the space.

Although the iPhone manufacturer does not touch much on the subject, there is information that the electric car project has been in development since 2015 and currently has about 5,000 employees working on it.

While the idea of a vehicle without a steering wheel sounds interesting to the company, the models will come equipped with a steering wheel that has an unconventional design for emergency situations.

However, the final decision has not yet been made. Additionally, it is clear that, just as important as the steering wheel, are the entertainment screens, which, according to reports, will leave Tesla green with envy, as they promise a screen for every seat.
