Blau Pharmaceuticals Will Build a New Factory in the State of Pernambuco. The Project Is Part of an Expansion Plan and Could Generate Many Jobs
On last Wednesday (09/06), the Government of Pernambuco advanced the installation of a new factory in the state. Operating in the sector of high-complexity hospital medication industries, Blau Pharmaceuticals will be able to implement its industrial expansion project in Brazil, at the Suape Complex, in the municipality of Cabo de Santo Agostinho, in the Metropolitan Region of Recife. Approximately R$ 1 billion can be invested in the venture, generating 1,000 jobs. New Factory in Pernambuco Could Generate Income and Jobs in the State
In a meeting at the Palácio do Campo das Princesas with the Governor of Pernambuco Paulo Câmara, the president of Blau Pharmaceuticals, Marcelo Han, estimated an investment of R$ 1 billion to establish the pharmaceutical company in Suape. He also projects the creation of one thousand direct jobs, some of which will be directed towards hiring pharmacists. However, the realization of actions depends on countermeasures.
Marcelo Han, CEO of Blau Pharmaceuticals, explains how the company decided on the location for the new factory. According to him, Blau has defined Pernambuco as the site for its new industrial and distribution headquarters, provided that the necessary state countermeasures are confirmed, according to ongoing negotiations.

Governor of Pernambuco Celebrates New Venture, Even Amid the Covid-19 Pandemic
The Governor of Pernambuco, Paulo Câmara, celebrated the potential arrival of the new factory, especially at a time of crisis arising from the Covid-19 pandemic. According to him, another important factory is being attracted to the state of Pernambuco.
According to Câmara, Pernambuco is establishing itself as an important pharmaceutical hub, not just for the Northeast, but for all of Brazil. The new investment will generate jobs and income at a time when the country is facing such difficulties, said the Governor of Pernambuco.

The Suzano Pulp and Paper factory, inaugurated in March of this year, in the city of Cachoeiro do Itapemirim, in the southern part of the State of Espírito Santo, received investments of R$ 130 million and could generate over 500 jobs at the unit by the end of this year. The factory, which produces sanitary papers, has the capacity to produce 30,000 tons of toilet paper annually.
André Rocha Vieira de Brito, Corporate Relations Manager at Suzano, states that the local workforce is expected to account for about 65% of the total jobs created, with the generation of new jobs at the factory occurring in two phases.
The Corporate Relations Manager at Suzano says that the factory in Cachoeiro do Itapemirim was supported by an investment from Suzano, announced two years ago. At the peak of the factory’s construction, about 300 people were hired. The unit in southern Espírito Santo may still create more job opportunities by the end of this year.
