Companies from the so-called Millionaire Lobby against the use of solar energy had their decisions suspended at TCU, by Minister Aroldo Cedraz
This Wednesday (14), Minister Aroldo Cedraz suspended the effects of the TCU's own decision, which harmed the solar energy system in the form of distributed generation, making micro and mini solar energy generators unfeasible in homes and companies. As a result, Aneel is unable to cancel policies for the generation of renewable solar energy, ensured since 2014.

Giving in to pressure from distribution companies, which abusively charge even for the poles and wires of other mini-generators that have invested in solar energy, would be a major setback for the country's renewable development.
Understand more about the Millionaire Lobby of companies that voted against the use of solar energy
Already quoted in another article here on CPG, millionaire lobby of the companies that are against solar energy are energy distribution companies that have associated with NGOs, and even “consumer defense” NGOs, to pressure other mini-generators to end the use of solar energy in Brazil, harming thousands of people , city halls, courts of accounts, companies, and even the STJ, which were attracted by Aneel licenses.

Companies invested in contracts with lobbyists, in contracts paid by the consumer, in the electricity bill. The Lobby would leave around 247 people unemployed. Bearing in mind that, only at the end of last year, the unemployment rate in the country was 14,1%, that is, 14 million people, and, in 2021, solar energy generated more than 147 thousand new jobs .
Expectation of the solar energy market for this year
The year 2021 will bring an increase of approximately 5,09 GW in installed capacity for solar energy in Brazil, that is, an increase of 68% in relation to the gathered until the end of last year, according to estimates by the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR).
Distributed generation, which is made up of 5MW systems located close to or together with the consumer unit, should represent a part that will grow the most, with a projection of 90% in its growth, with a transition from 4,4 GW to 8,3 GW. Centralized generation, made up of large plants, should grow by approximately 37%, going from 3,1 GW to 4,2 GW.
Growing environmental concerns such as greenhouse gas emissions, accompanied by increased energy consumption, are pushing industries towards more sustainable and cost-effective energy resources. These factors are likely to positively drive growth in the solar energy market.
Increased demand for alternative energy sources and supportive government policies for rooftop solar panel installations drive growth in the global solar energy market. However, increases in government tariff plans hamper market growth. On the other hand, the growth of investments in R&D for the development of third-generation high-efficiency solar modules opens up opportunities in the coming years.
About TCU
Almost as old as the Republic of Brazil itself, the TCU was created two years after the proclamation, in 1891, with the main function of monitoring the country's budgetary and financial execution. This performance of the TCU is given at the federal level.
An important fact about the TCU is that, like the Public Ministry, it is not subordinate to any of the three powers, despite being linked to the Legislature.
