The Recently Approved New Regulatory Framework for Natural Gas Will Also Contribute to the Development of the Thermoelectric Plant in Macaé

Last Wednesday, 09/02, a text from Bill 6407/13 changed the regulations for the exploration of gas pipelines on national soil, moving from concession to authorization, effectively breaking Petrobras’ natural gas monopoly.

Thus, all companies involved in natural gas and oil activities will be able to operate with just an authorization issued by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP). Without a doubt, once constructed and when the process of building the new thermoelectric plant in Macaé begins, the estimate is that more than 1,500 direct jobs could be generated.
