New Job Openings Will Arise Along with 12 Thermoelectric Plants in Macaé, Check It Out!
The new investments are concentrated in Macaé for the construction of 12 thermoelectric plants starting next year, according to the words of the president of the Macaé Commercial and Industrial Association (ACIM), Francisco Navega, popularly known as ‘navega’ the construction of the new thermoelectric plants that will produce energy with natural gas, adding to the two that already exist, could transform Macaé into an energy capital.

For the construction of the 12 new thermoelectric plants, the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has released R$ 2 billion in financing for the implementation of UTE Marlim Azul Energia S.A.

Even though Macaé already has two operational thermoelectric units, it will also receive a pioneering electricity generation project involving Shell and UTE Marlim Azul Energia. The Recently Approved New Regulatory Framework for Natural Gas Will Also Contribute to the Development of the Thermoelectric Plant in Macaé
Last Wednesday, 09/02, a text from Bill 6407/13 changed the regulations for the exploration of gas pipelines on national soil, moving from concession to authorization, effectively breaking Petrobras’ natural gas monopoly.
Thus, all companies involved in natural gas and oil activities will be able to operate with just an authorization issued by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP). Without a doubt, once constructed and when the process of building the new thermoelectric plant in Macaé begins, the estimate is that more than 1,500 direct jobs could be generated.
