During a public hearing of the Navy Industry Commission of the Legislative Assembly of Rio (Alerj), Sinaval (National Union of the Shipbuilding Industry) presented suggestions for the Brazilian shipbuilding sector to come back to growth. The union proposed the following parameters: drafting a state policy for the sector; resuming local content with an index greater than 25% – with an intermediate proposal of at least 40%; in addition to better interest rates and terms. Sérgio Bacci, Vice President Of The National Union Of The Shipbuilding Industry (Sinaval), Says That With Only 25% Local Content (Contracting Of Suppliers), The Construction Of Platforms By Petrobras Was Reduced To A Few Modules And Shipyards Began To Face Difficulties. Consequently, They Experienced A Significant Reduction In Job Vacancies.

The Letter States That It Is Known That The State Of Rio De Janeiro Still Has The Largest Hub Of The Shipbuilding And Offshore Repair Industry In Brazil, Having Ideal Conditions To Establish The Largest Park For This Offshore Frontier, Carrying Out The Decommissioning Of Platforms And Dismantling Of Their Structures.
