After achieving the highest financial profit in the last 22 years, employees of the Postal Service received full inflation replacement in salaries, positions, and benefits. The news was announced by the president of the federal public company, Floriano Peixoto, in an interview with the program A Voz do Brasil, on September 12.
Peixoto commented on the wage negotiation approved by the company and that is already in effect. According to the president, he personally engaged in negotiations with the staff to bring the best possible agreement forward.
According to the approved text, employees of the Postal Service received full inflation replacement in salaries, positions, and benefits. “This is a matter of justice and a constitutional duty of the company to our workforce, our greatest asset,” said Peixoto.

It is worth noting that the Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telégrafos, or simply Postal Service, is the only national company capable of delivering packages and mail in all municipalities of Brazil, from east to west, and from north to south. “The postal service belongs to Brazil and Brazilians,” said Peixoto.

The minister commented on the subject in a live stream held by an investment website. He promised to send a project to Congress for deputies and senators to analyze the details of the sale, including the shareholding control and obligations of the company that acquires the state-owned company.
According to Fabio Faria, the National Congress will establish the guidelines and parameters for the privatization of the Postal Service based on studies from consulting firms hired by the BNDES.
