The digitalization in the decommissioning activities of assets is the focus of this year’s largest congress of the Naval and Offshore sector in Latin America. The implementation of digitalization as a recurring industry practice to support the phases of decommissioning, deactivation, and dismantling of assets will be the topic of the lecture by Leonardo Sant’Anna, Executive Manager of the Technical Center of Bureau Veritas, a global leader in Testing, Inspection, and Certification.

“Some examples of the added value that digitalization solutions can bring to the decommissioning of assets are preparation for processes, a standard collaborative simulation approach in a virtual space environment, supply chain support, and eliminating additional costs due to unforeseen events caused by lack of data and access issues, as well as reducing field visits,” highlights Nascimento. “The digitalization process will assist in ensuring cost and time certainty, as well as providing the opportunity to evaluate scenarios, approaches, and alternative technologies.”
Leonardo Sant’Anna joins specialists, researchers, and academics to discuss the impacts of technological advances in the sector with the lecture Digitalization & Decommissioning, which will take place on the next 28th, at 9 a.m., at the 28th International Congress of Aquatic Transportation, Shipbuilding and Offshore.
