SCGÁS, the Natural Gas Distributor from Santa Catarina, Has Just Received the Carbon Emission Neutralization Certificate Issued by Climate Neutral Group (CNG), an International Consultancy Specialized in Sustainability and Climate Change.

The certification proves that the company has managed to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and offset the remaining emissions by purchasing carbon credits. According to SCGÁS, carbon emission neutralization is one of the actions taken by the company to fulfill its commitment to sustainability. Additionally, the distributor has been investing in energy efficiency projects and renewable energy sources to minimize its environmental impact.

According to Cósme Polêse, the CEO of SCGÁS, the certification is an important achievement for the company and the state of Santa Catarina. “Carbon emission neutralization is one of the most effective ways to combat climate change, and SCGÁS is committed to doing its part. Furthermore, this certification puts us in a prominent position in the market, showing that we are a company committed to sustainability,” he stated.

SCGÁS is the first natural gas distributor in Brazil to obtain the carbon emission neutralization certification. The company’s initiative follows a global trend of companies seeking to reduce their environmental impact and adopt more sustainable practices.

According to CNG, carbon emission neutralization is an important tool for companies looking to mitigate their environmental impact. The consultancy offers advisory and auditing services for companies wishing to implement more sustainable practices and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

SCGÁS is committed to continuing to invest in sustainable projects and renewable energy sources. The company aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2030 and by 50% by 2050. With the carbon emission neutralization certification, SCGÁS takes another step towards a more sustainable future.

With the growing concern about climate change and societal pressure for more sustainable practices, initiatives like that of SCGÁS demonstrate that companies can and must take responsibility for mitigating their environmental impact. Carbon emission neutralization is one of the most effective ways to combat climate change, and SCGÁS sets an important example for other companies in the natural gas sector.
