Amid the Investments in Greenctechs Worldwide, Company Sees Jump in Revenue Over the Last Three Years

Drivetech, a Brazilian company founded in 2007 and based in the municipality of Sertãozinho, metropolitan region of Ribeirão Preto, inland São Paulo, celebrates significant revenue between 2019 and 2022 in businesses involving clean energy. The company jumped from R$ 20 million to R$ 120 million due to the sales of solutions for energy transition in the new and modern plants of multinational agricultural sector companies.

The main business of Drivetech is certified low and medium voltage panels, a fundamental product for the operation of the new bioparks for the production of biofuels and bioenergy. According to the company, these technologies are present in the main industrial plants in Brazil, with at least 30 customized projects since its foundation, leading to an investment of R$ 20 million in the expansion of its manufacturing facility, which increases from 2,500 square meters to an area of 5,000 m2.

Among the consolidated clean energy businesses are the electrical systems at the Coruripe plants in Alagoas and Vale do Pontal in Minas Gerais, owned by the Companhia Mineira de Açúcar e Álcool, which is one of the largest producers of VHP (raw sugar) and electricity in the country, in addition to Delta Sucroenergia, Vale, Bunge, Ambev, Inpasa, and Raízen, which intends to build around 20 industrial plants for 2G ethanol by 2030.

“We have been supplying and producing certified low and medium voltage panels for over 15 years. We guarantee technical responsibility to our clients. We have more than 90 employees committed to designing and manufacturing panels that meet specifications and, above all, help dozens of companies contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”

Outlook for the Future

As clean energy generation through renewable sources is a global necessity, promoting a natural movement of technological innovations and engineering solutions that are increasingly sought after by giant multinationals in their journey towards decarbonization of the planet,  Drivetech makes an optimistic projection for 2023. The company estimates a revenue increase of 20% for next year.

Worldwide, according to Allied Market Research, investments in clean energy startups have been steadily increasing. Since 2018, the sector has reached US$ 6.85 billion, expected to hit US$ 44.61 billion by 2026. Here in Brazil, there are more than 150 mapped startups with this objective.

Brazil stands out in the world regarding renewable energy. Currently, the country holds the 15th position in the Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index.

How Brazil Has Been Growing in Renewable Energy

Large companies are expected to be the main players in the decarbonization process worldwide, along with government incentives and initiatives from major nations. With the development of innovations, it is possible to achieve the global goal of reducing the planet’s temperature.

Brazil has the potential to contribute to a cleaner world. About 85% of the country’s energy matrix comes from low-emission sources (hydraulic, natural gas, wind, biomass, and solar).

With the advancement of renewable sources, it is natural to see a reduction in the demand for thermoelectric plants, most of which are powered by coal. In 2021, thermoelectric usage was 21% in the Brazilian electric matrix, and by 2022 it dropped to 9%.

The distributed generation of solar energy in Brazil surged from 8.4 GW to 14 GW of installed capacity, resulting in a 66.7% growth compared to 2021. Since the end of 2021, there have been investments of more than R$ 76.7 billion in the sector, bringing Brazil to the fourth position among the countries that invested the most in solar energy.

Regarding wind energy in Brazil, projections indicate that the year 2022 will end with around 2.8 GW of installed capacity. In 2021, it was 2.1 GW.
